So with the key on (not starting) I'm getting about 5v at the coil plug, but I tried to ground it out and could not get it to spark. Also I'm still actively getting the 1233 code after replacing the fpdm.

Also just put a pressure gauge on the fuel rail and I'm getting 40psi hit when the pump primes and 40-55psi while cranking

What did you use to get 5 volts?

Where was ground connected to.

What color was the wire you got 5 volts on.

I have a question that may not have been brought up. Did you do anything prior to this, and who did the mods on this car?

5v isn’t right

Recheck again.

But only red wire.

Have you confirmed meter working if touching battery positive and seeing 12v.

+1 and ground to the battery negative. Caster camber plates "should work" but it's not threaded into the metal, bolted through and holes might be painted. No guarantee good continuity to ground.

I did test the meter on my 2014 GT on the battery and tested good! unfortunately I cant ground it on the battery on my cobra as I have the battery relocated to the trunk. what should volts be at coil plug with key on? im thinking that I might have a bad PCM.

I had an 01 Cobra that would not start. I had fuel pressure, crank signal, etc. It did have some issue with PATS, however even when loading a tune that disabled PATS, it still would not pulse ground to the coil packs. Ended up replacing the PCM and it started right up.

so 12v on the red wire what should I get on the other?

The other is a ground.

Trigger wheel sends these pulses to pcm

Pcm sends signal to coil.

Here you will see just a flicker on meter while cranking.

Noid light is used here.

Test light will work but you may only see element glow. It’s to fast on/off

Looking back through my wire diagrams you should check fuse F2.34 (20A) and fuse F1.26 (30A). F1 fuses are under the hood next to where the battery would be and F2 fuses are in the car above the clutch pedal. With key on you should see 12v on the red wire with harness unhooked from the COP. A good ground since your battery is in the truck should be one of the bolts where the head lights ground, loosen one and just make sure that the surface isn’t painted when testing. The ignition capacitors you was asking about are to minimize radio interference caused by the ignition coils. If you are not getting 12v on that red wire then the only other thing inline with that red wire that I can see (other members, correct me if I’m wrong) are the two ignition capacitors that ground to the block/back of the heads. If you get some voltage but less than 12v then you could try unplugging both of the capacitors and just see if it changes anything. I’ve never heard of one going bad but if it did I could possibly see it draining some voltage before it gets to the coils.

Okay guys noticed something today while trying to start the car. When cranking the theft light stays lit up for about 3 seconds and then goes out. First thing I noticed when the car "broke" was the my negative battery cable had come completely undone and was not touching. Do I need to replace the PCM? Or get my PATS redone? Or could it be as easy as just getting my keys reprogrammed?

It wouldn’t crank if pats was issue.

You also would get a key code.

I have a second key that’s just a key.
Can open door and put on radio.

Once I turn key to run. It sets a code that say your key is bad.

The pcm is very smart
