3.5 V6 with 500HP and 700HP limited edition V8. I like the sound of that. And Ford will sell the piss out of them. No way Ford allows Ram or any truck maker to out gun them. They take pride in best in class weather it power or torque or payload etc.
I agree, Raptor should have the Tremors 7.3. Makes more actual sense than the EcoBoost and the predator combined
This plus I wish instead the raptor had that new badass 7.3 gasser
I'd rather have had a tweaked 7.3l with an aluminum block.
Was kinda hoping they would do a high end version of the raptor, make the ecoboost more affordable and a Shelby Raptor or something with a ~$15k increase.

personally though I find this all exciting if the raptor does get the 700hp option as it’s a glimmer of hope they still listen to their fan base

They are listening to the $$$, not the fans, otherwise they wouldn't have waited until the competition trumped them to do what people have been asking for years.
I'd love to see a 525-550 HP lightweight NA V8 under the hood! The Raptor has a huge advantage over the TRX with weight. Its almost 1000lbs lighter.

Is the TRX really that much heavier than the Raptor? Would it be heavier than a Raptor with a GT500 motor?
Is there an advantage of a blown GT500 motor over a blown Hemi?
For the record I think this is all speculative/rumor.
Here is what I see online so far for a 2020 raptor weight vs the TRX
Gross weight-
Raptor- 6650
TRX- 7800
So a pretty good size difference but does that change if the raptor gets updated more plush interior and a GT500 drivetrain which i would assume weighs more than the current ecoboost set up.
For a truck that for most will likely only see street duty, I doubt the weight will be a concern. Then again it would be a metric that could be a bragging right at the local cars and coffee parking lot lol
I can’t seem to find a clear verbiage of curb weight for the TRX but I’ve seen vehicle weight listed as 6350. It would seem odd it weighs less than the current raptorThink you may be looking at GVWR instead of curb weight. My guess is they aren't that far apart. Power to weight ratio should certainly favor the TRX comparing this year's models.
See, that right there doesn't make sense to me about the TRX being a direct competitor to the Raptor. The Raptor does dune jumps. I have yet to see the TRX do any.I'd love to see a 525-550 HP lightweight NA V8 under the hood! The Raptor has a huge advantage over the TRX with weight. Its almost 1000lbs lighter.

Where do you expect the weight to be? I also posted above I think I was looking at the wrong number prior. I found a listed curb weight of 6350 for the TRX.Lol not a gdamn chance.

That sounds more like it.
My 2016 Cummins Ram 4x4 crew cab came in at 7800 and some change. No way any current half ton is even close to that number from the factory.
Raptor curb weight is around 5550 lbs. I think the 4 doors are around 5700. The TRX was listed at 6500. There’s a big difference in weight between these trucks. The eco boost weighs nothing and the all aluminum body and glass front fenders help the raptor keep the heft down. The gen2 raptors are about 400lbs lighter than the gen 1 trucks
