Ohhh Mod for Mod... what’s the best we’ve seen out of a 93 pump gas 2020 Shelby....

And I mean if you wanna talk Mod for Mod then we can talk Dollar for Dollar right? Or you don’t wanna touch that one...

You can sneeze at a 2020 and make 900 wheel. Ken @ PBD has made 1100 wheel with bolt ons......

Haha nice. I had an 07 and loved it.

The "my car, my mods" argument doesnt work because there is no stationary goal post. Insert "my 1000whp civic that cost me $20k to build will destroy _____"

And besides, all of the other New Balance wearers in this thread are spending their money on chrome brake fluid covers and paint-matched front splitters.... not go-fast mods like you so........youre the outlier in this group.

On a serious note, that's what I'm talking about though. For ME PERSONALLY, does a 2020 Shelby GT500 make sense? Right now that answer is no. And that's really what this thread is about, personal preference.

I can't see the justifications for selling my car which has been paid for since 2017 and taking on another payment when I already have what I consider a better fit for me... I don't need/want all the interior bells and whistles nor do I want an automatic... no matter how amazing they become. I want to feel like I'm apart of the driving experience. My wife's Explorer ST gives me all the creature comfort I need. when I'm in the Shelby I wanna bang gears and go deaf listening to my exhaust stinking up the intersection as she goes lope lope lope.

So what is a New Balance wearer? An older person? Do you know what I like to ask disrespectful youngins? “What’s in your wallet?” I am 60 and getting ready to retire in the Spring. My wallet is padded quite well, that much I do know. :p

Ah.. some moving of the goal posts eh? Nice!
LMFAO
A S197 GT500 vs. 2020 GT500 mod for mod,............my money's on the 2020, all day, every day.

Nothing wrong with the S179 GT500 cars, just not on the same level as far as comfort, performance.
Looks?? I think they both look amazing.

Trouble is, as @Tezz500 alluded to, you'll have a LOT less money to wager after buying a 2020. Between their sticker price and ridiculous ADMs, you'd likely spend 1.5-2 times the cost of a '13/'14 before you even get into mods...

In the performance arena, @1 Alibi 2 already pointed out...
It took Ford 6 MY's to arrive @:
The same 0 to 60 results.
20 MPH lower top end speed.

I prefer S197 styling over the S550's. The bridge too far for me, however, is the CFTP's Wing. It looks like an afterthought bolted-on by one of the builder's kids using spare parts from an erector set! I'm not a fan of wings, in general, but the 2020's is one of the worst implementations I've ever seen! Like @Tezz500 said...
It looks like it was designed by Brian O'Conner.. WTF is with the WING?? **** dude.... FnF called they want their body kit back.

In the end, it's all about personal preference.

Yes, I agree, all about personal preference.

The 2020 GT500 is definitely an expensive car, but I wouldn't pay ADM or anything over sticker for one. If I couldn't get one for sticker,...hard pass for me.
Top speed of the 2020 GT500 is not even close to the '13/1'4 GT500.

And I agree, I'm not really a fan of the big CFTP wing at all. It looks hella rice in my opinion, even if it does get the job done. Same goes for the C7 ZR1 wing,...don't like it all, but I love the car. Before buying my current Mustang, I shopped the '13/'14 GT500 cars really hard! I had my heart set on one, but just couldn't find the exact one I was looking for. Most importantly, one owner, super clean, and stock. So I don't dislike the '13/'14 GT500 cars at all. I think they are gorgeous and powerful, but not on the same level as the 2020 GT500. 2020 GT500,...better interior, better ride and in my opinion, better overall performance. (Overall performance = drag strip and track course.)

We stopped by our dealership this morning to see the ‘20 GT500 base model. It is very nice! Hate the black wheels, but the rest is quite nice. The wife asked the salesman if it was easy for her to drive. Of course! I still love my ‘13 more.
