I can see where you’re coming from, but to me that’s an excuse to mod it a bit more. Keeps it exciting and the stock motor can take 800rwhp pretty safely.
I will admit I prefer the S550 as a daily and IRS comfort, but that’s not what I have my 500 for. It’s built to scare me in all the good ways. :)

Exactly.

Wife’s sonic is waaay up there in price. I’m considering selling my truck too since wife got a Tiguan with crazy VW warranty plus an extra few years- things warrantied til like 2028. I mean I’m sure the market will come back down soon enough anyway
My wife had a 2009 VW CC VR6 4-Motion for about three years. That was a bad*ss little German sedan: all wheel drive, paddle shifters, really nice interior, powerful V6. I think she got scared of the maintenance rumors she heard once a VW got to near 50K miles. Fun little car with good power. She certainly misses it. She is looking at an Audi S3, as it reminds her of her CC.

I know I'm in the wrong section, but my 2010, as of last month, and I track it's price biweekly, is worth exactly what I paid for it 6 years ago. $35.5k. It had dipped as low as 28k a few years ago, but has steadily been going up in value since that dip. Low miles are the key. My 2010 with 90k miles, worth about 27k.

No worries about your car being a different year. It is a great car, too. Still a great looking S197 and a beautiful Shelby. Glad to know the values are heading up!

Aren’t the verts governed to not go above 150-160 mph? Coupes are not limited, so it seems to me that would be a factor. Either one would be great, but like the ‘67-‘68 GT500s, that won’t matter much.

The convertibles are governed to a 155 mph top speed. I had this turned off when I had mine tuned.
Ford did this so the tops didn't get sucked off the car.
I've had mine to 165 mph and the top was just fine!
Love my 2014, and don't ever plan on selling it.

Dumb question, but after sitting for 6 years now, has it hurt this car sitting for so long if you wanted to start driving it daily?

Tires, Seals, Fluids hurt sitting so long?
To be honest It’s Crazy not to drive them, But I do start and move them around change the oil and filter every year no matter what and depending on the weather I will drive them around town. They also sit on pads so the tires don’t get flat spots. Garage is climate controlled 24/7 This was the summer I was going to do some cars shows but with the crazy things that have happened this year everything was cancelled! Maybe things will be better for 2021 and the mileage will go up. And as for the ones for sale I would think it would be bad to just sit for so long not being started or driven a little. So yes I agree with you!

I have never subscribed to the " winter lay-up " on either car, you can always find a way to slip out for a short drive..

We have warm enough days throughout most of the winter, but I prefer not to drive mine after the sand and salt goes down. Too much road rash and almost always random sources of runoff water to make things even messier.

Agreed. The thing that concerns me is the salt and sand they lay down.

Already laid down a layer of salt and stone here the other day when it snowed 2 inches mostly on grass. I am in a ski resort area of NW NJ and its been like this since I moved here 37 years ago. Its not a friendly area for performance or collectible vehicles. Driving on the stones with the factory GY's could prove treacherous. My GY's are off my newly acquired 13 GT500. NJ finally smartened up and they are doing appointments now for motor vehicle services because of the long lines. Finally will get the 13 GT500 titled and registered next Tuesday. Got it back in August.

I feel like I live in Canada here. Its 25 out right now with the wind chill and 30-40 mile an hour winds. Some light snow is expected this afternoon. Can't wait to move. So the GT500 will sit in the cocoon until April unless we get some warm days coming up after its registered.
