That's weird to me. When I think of towing, I think of wanting a t-lok or something better. Not an open diff
My truck has an e-locker. I haven't had any issues towing with it open. Maybe if I was towing in mud or snow. But I haven't even needed it to get the boat out of the water. I've locked it a couple times in soft sand just to help make sure it didn't get stuck. I did forget it was on one time and couldn't figure out why my turning radius sucked for a minute.

The E-LSD does not come in the Heavy Duty Tow Package.

Now that is funky.

Wonder why they have an open differential in a heavy tow package? Weight? I cant imagine Eaton's unit being that weak and the added traction alone would benefit the truck.

What is the 102A(SSV) at the bottom? States it retains the ELSD and 3.73 rear?

I found out how you can get the E-LSD and Max Tow Package.

Expedition Max XLT w/ FX4 Package + Max Tow Package. Gets you the E-LSD and the Max Tow Option but you start off with a XLT versus the other higher starting trims.

Here is a build sheet with them.

I wish the FX4 package was an option for the higher trims.

I’m assuming they don’t want to compromise ride quality.

Special Service Vehicle, aka police/fire only.

It does say it comes with different shocks. Very funky set of build options for the Expedition Max.

It's really not. It's not much different than any other of the vehicle line ups.

Towing and lockers is a recipe for wrecking stuff. Lockers in a semi are a good way for a less skilled operator to wreck diffs or axles.

I know I had used my E-Locker on my 2015 F250 once while moving round bales out of wet field on a gooseneck trailer. Any slight turning with it locked in was met with a chorus of clicks and pops from the rear axle. I learned quickly to leave it off before it grenades. All the weight means tires can't slip like you need them to.

My local dealer has one with the heavy tow package and the control Trac Elsd options. It's a 2021 Limited so I'm wondering if there is there some way of configuring the vehicle that will let you do it add it both because as you guys have said I've only been able build it on the xlt.
