Anyone a watch hobbyist, if so, do you have this watch?

I chose to have expensive hobbies, cars and watches. I have about 15+ watches, two Omega Seamasters, two Rolex Date-Justs (Inherited, one in stainless steel, the other in a half 18kt. gold band with 18kt. gold through the watch), one Breitling Avenger II, one TAG Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5 and one Calibre 16, Vintage 1950-1962 Omega Seamaster in flawless condition (it's been serviced of course), one Hamilton Auto Chono Field Day/Date, a couple Seiko 5s, one Citizen Eco-Drive, and maybe 7+ Bulovas, about 5 of them being all vintage.

Anyways, i've been saving for my dream watch that is basically the most i'm willing to spend one a watch. A Zenith El Primero. The same movement Rolex used in their Daytona for a decade before since it was such a great design. For anyone who doesn't know, Rolex Daytonas sell for anywhere between $55k-$100k+, emphasis on the +. The El Primero costs $9,500, but can be found new for $7,500 and it has the trademark unique 1/10 of a second movement. Just as i'm a manual transmission snob on cars, i'm an automatic movement snob on watches.

Anyways, on from my life story, Breitling makes a Ford Mustang themed watch, it's subtle, but it's of course a Mustang watch with the running horse below the 12 o' clock position and the rear of the watch shows the classic Tri-Bar Mustang Logo. Also I should note this watch also comes in a red face with the Corvette twin flag symbol, a Triumph, a Shelby Cobra, and two other styles i'm not honestly familiar with brand-wise.

It's not just a watch slapped on with a running horse logo, it has in-house Breitling 25 movement, 28k VpH, 38 jewels, 100M water resistance, cambered sapphire crystal, their classic anti reflective coating which can change the hue of some of the watch face a different color indoors, but under direct sunlight it looks as pictured, 42mm diameter, which is about the largest size I would wear. The trend in going back down to 36-39mm. Of course it's a true chronograph with a sweeping second hand with the pushers and the calfskin leather band looks perfect on this watch with the green face contract IMO. Only problem is Breitling didn't make many of each of there watches and they can be hard to find, sort of like the 50th anniversary Omega Speedmaster silver snoopy edition.

That 's a very cool looking watch. Way more than I'd ever spend, but then I'm not a watch collector. You have a nice collection. Do you wear them all, or are there some that are kept "in the case", like museum collector cars?

Nice collection.
I'd stop short of saying I'm a collector but I always liked watches. I've had a Breitling Colt and an Omega Aqua Terra. I stopped wearing them and sold them because it's so damn hot where I live that my wrist would constantly sweat. I'm moving to a cooler climate soon so I might pick up another timepiece then.
I think we had another thread on expensive watches a few years ago. Can't remember which forum it was though.

Thanks! I have a weekly rotation of 4 watches, sometimes 5. I wear my Rolex, TAG Heuer Calibre 5 (not the 16 because it cost most, but it's really heavy since it's a chronograph), Omega Seamaster, and my Hamilton. Right my Hamilton is being serviced under warranty since it isn't working properly, which is odd, because i've owned Hamiltons before and they were excellent, so for now I switch my 5th watch for my vintage Omega Seamaster, and then i'll switch it up and wear my Breitling instead. I need a larger watch winder. The only I currently have only holds 2 watches and I set it to turn the longest interval possible because it's loud and annoying to listen to everyday. All my other watches go into a leather and glass viewing case.

Nice watches. My knowledge is like at a 5th grade level compared to some of the people who post on the watch forum i'm a member of. They know every little detail. If I ask an obscure question about a watch or one of my watches, they know every single detail about. I guess it's no different than most off us heavily invested (time & money) in our modified cars.

True. I used to post on timezone.com a lot but haven't logged on in years.

Still kicking myself for not picking up an AP 15202ST a few years ago when an opportunity came up. Easy to do in hindsight, but $25k at the time seemed insane...

A Zenith El Primero. The same movement Rolex used in their Daytona for a decade before since it was such a great design.
Only about 50% of that movement was Zenith since Rolex heavily modified it.

I love the El Primero.....but every time I try one on it just isn't me.

Edit: the last time I was in there the Breitling boutique in Scottsdale had the mustang watch if you're still looking for it. I have the non-mustang panda version of that and I can say that it wears significantly smaller than the measurements suggest. If you choose to get that watch keep in mind that it has curved spring bars so finding straps is a complete nightmare.

Gotcha. Nah, the Mustang watch is officially no longer in my sights. I just bought a Holley Terminator X this morning. So I shifted my resources to my car until it's finished until now at least...
