Slightly annoying dude in blue did a video on them the other day...I remember a couple lightly modded ones running around that would beat up on the Mustang guys that didn't have any real work done

It was humbling getting wrecked in your bolt on SN95 Cobra. In the Terminator it was a different story.

I bought mine new in 2005 I surprised a lot of ppl. After every win a typical response was “ yea it’s still just a neon” or they would make fun of the rear roll up windows ( rightfully so I might add lol) but it was very cheap (22k fully loaded) and was very fast for the price point

I’ll never forget my first absolute ass kicking , it was a catfish Camaro SS And it was on the highway and I had 4 ppl in my car ( not that it would’ve mattered) and he had a passenger, we went from probably 40mph I’ll tell you I needed a rape whistle lol. So that’s when I started modding and it was basic bolt ons at first but before I knew it went down the rabbit hole

DCR Stroker motor, Crane Cams
70mm BW turbo , meth injection etc etc and this was all done before I had 10k miles on the car. Anyway I made the car completely undrivable on the street and I just let it sit and sit for years til I finally sold it. Admittedly I wish I hadn’t, would’ve been nice to put it all back to stock and give it to my son as his first car

Honestly I do too for some odd reason
I can't quite see from the road, but it looks like a guy a little bit down the highway from me has a few Neons and at least one looks like an SRT-4. I never see them on the road though. These cars were on my want list, back in the day, but I already had too many cars.

Friend of mine had one in high school when I had my SVTF and I helped him install his mods. I never stood a chance, until I got my 03 Cobra. First time at the track with my Cobra I had to line up against one and I got caught off the line getting terrible wheel-hop that I remember nearly shaking my fillings out. This SRT4 got way out ahead and I ran him down at the line but lost by a fender and I never heard the end of it. Friends said even the announcer was dogging me lol. Got my revenge some time later when one pulled up to me on the freeway letting his blow-off valve be heard and all that. I let him go first and I ran him down before going into 3rd, but the car was still no slouch as he hung on. I knew what they were capable of having modded and driven them and they were no doubt fast, but man they were shit cars and extremely ugly... and still are. The factory stance was terrible.

About the only vid left of my neon lol I had a bunch on streetfire. Car ran 11.70@121 which was pretty good in 2004. It was a ego crusher for sure. I used to rape in that thing. NEVER broke on me. It was a cool car honestly.

They didn't rev for shit, but that big(er) 4 cylinder could spool a pretty big turbo pretty quickly.

The rest of the car was pure trash. I'll pass.

Would rather have a nicely built K or B series Honda or an old DSM.
