Tesla’s vehicles might not be as efficient as the automaker says they are.

The EV giant has allegedly been exaggerating the driving range of its vehicles for years, according to a new report from Reuters. The Austin-based company is said to have even gone as far as to set up a team to suppress complaints about the issue.

The article claims that Tesla has been intentionally inflating the in-dash range-meter projection on its EVs for about a decade at the behest of its CEO, Elon Musk. A source familiar with the matter told the news agency that the executive reportedly gave the directive to rig its range estimating software. The resulting algorithm provided a “rosy” range projection, as opposed to an accurate estimate of how far the EV could travel before it needed to be recharged.

Also this past week, Reuters reported on claims that Tesla manipulated dashboard displays in their cars to exaggerate driving-range projections - and according to the unnamed source, CEO Elon Musk issued the directive to do so.

The investigation also uncovered a secret "Diversion Team" located in Nevada whose sole purpose is canceling range-related service appointments.

Managers told their employees that each cancellation saved Tesla roughly $1,000, per the sources cited by Reuters, and sources also said cancellations prompted workers to celebrate by hitting a metal xylophone and applauding, sometimes while standing on desks.

"One thing we know, is that the loss of revenue from this ev insanity will not be made up by increasing the price of their other products.

Ford and all the other mfrs would never do that. They'll just eat these losses."

^Thats just one of the lies and frustrations of this ev insanity.

As long as EV minerals come from 3rd world shit holes, the Greens are happy. The children miners digging for cobalt better dig faster.

The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that the state's Pollution Control Agency improperly granted permits to the NewRange Copper Nickel project and concealed environmental concerns about the project.

The court found that state regulators not only ignored concerns from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency about the mine, but attempted to conceal EPA warnings from the public.

The court's unanimous ruling is the latest roadblock for the long-sought project, a 50-50 joint venture with PolyMet Mining (NYSE:PLM) and Teck Resources (NYSE:TECK) which seeks to be Minnesota's first copper-nickel mine.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in June revoked a critical water quality permit for the project, saying the permit did not comply with water quality standards set by the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, whose reservation on the St. Louis River is downstream from the mine.

I am convinced that Ford is doing the Mustang stuff on purpose to have an out when they kill it.

Kind of how I think current media producers are making every character in reboots diversity characters. That way when their shitty remake bombs, they have an excuse.
