What are you guys using? I tried with Hagerty and they denied me because I didn’t say it was going to cat shows, just labeled as a leisure vehicle.

Vehicle is a 05 Dodge 2500. It’s got a lift, 2nd gen swap and a few other things. I’m just looking more for an assessed value than standard insurance since it’s not a daily driver.

Grundy allows daily driving, and also has agreed cash value. I pay $277/year for full coverage on my 1996 Bronco with agreed cash value of $38,500. Note: My coverage/premiums do not include daily use.

That being said, I'm not sure they would consider a 05 Dodge 2500 for their policies, but it can't hurt to ask. I know they were slightly hesitant about taking my Bronco until I showed them pictures.

Insurance is all about risk management. The more they limit and exclude and essentially lower the risk, the better the price will be. While this is obvious, you have to ask yourself how comfortable you are in assuming that additional risk. Essentially a Hy-brid form of self funding. I am not a fan of Grundy or Hagerty.

@DriftwoodSVT i tried them online and didn’t see anything but I might have to call. Allstate writes through Hagerty but that vehicle has to be 20 years or older.

i think trying to find a category for that kind of coverage will be the issue as mentioned. The only thing it would seem to fit is in some kind of modified/show car coverage. Normally they're covering specialty vehicles, limited production, over X years old.

You could probably get it marked as a leisure vehicle with your current carrier but not with the agreed value policy. Adding coverage for aftermarket parts may be something they don't like all together. My cousin had an old f100 that was lifted on some big ass tires and nobody would give him that agreed value policy because they considered it a mud truck.

I have Haggerty.
I have Allstate.

Originally, I went through my Allstate guy and he was doing up the policy; clueless when I was explaining my 2013. So I just called Haggerty directly. I think cutting out the middle man saved me money honestly.

I went straight to Hagerty and they denied my request because I labeled it as just a leisure vehicle and didn’t say anything about car shows, mechanic, etc. The truck does have a 6” lift and 37” tires which they kept bringing up, so I’m not sure if that’s the issue.

I tried to have it as a leisure vehicle and they don’t do that. I might have to ask them about modifications though.
