another vote for yosemite national park. The view at tunnel view is worth it alone, then theres the giant sequoias, glacier point, mirror lake, half dome...etc. I went years ago and will definitely be going back.

Yeah, ideally I would suggest two full days in Yosemite. A second day would be Mariposa Grove for the giant sequoias as well as hiking Clouds Rest. Staying at Curry Village would be my choice.

I had a BLAST driving the Vette on HWY 120 between HWY 395 and Hwy 6, just West of Yosemite National Park. The road is like a freakin' roller coaster! You can easily get air off the tops of some of the hills and bottom out your suspension at the bottom of those same hills. The hills are steep enough that you can't see the other side which makes it all the more fun! Highly recommended if you get anywhere near there.

Morro Bay. No people, quiet seaside town…it was the “town” depicted in Finding Dori. LOL

Kayaking, wildlife, whale watching, and again, it is quiet with few people.

So Cal/AZ
probably the most beautiful coastal area is the Monterey County area. That includes Carmel and Pebble Beach. The 17 Mile Drive is a Must.

So you want to send OP to Morro Bay and not mention the Elephant in the Room of that town.... ?? My wife wont even go back to that town because of it!!! I like Your suggestion though. That Natural Landmark is saved in my mind forever.

It is a big ass rock formation out on the beach in Morro Bay off of Highway 1. It is supposed to be a volcanic rock. it is bigger and taller than the power plant that is built close to it. But, for some dang reason i bring my wife to Morro bay and she is freaked out by this huge rock telling me its Haunted or Spirited. We did some research and the rock is used by native American tribe people who do rituals yearly on the top of it.

i recommend the drive from Morro bay to Pismo Beach on highway 1 south and the 101 south.
