I was getting some weird starting issues. Hard to explain but the dashboard lights were flickering, hard starting and poor performance. I recharged the battery, but I noticed some additional wires that came off the + and - battery connector terminals. I took the smaller wire connectors off...
I don't have a stretched accelerator cable, just a little slack at the TB that I want to get rid of if I could turn the screw just a little bit. If I need a new cable, I will order one. Pedal height is okay and idle is almost dead on. Thanks for your input. Sorry if I misspoke about TPS vs IAC.
(2001 Cobra) I took off my throttle body to give it a good cleaning and also replaced the gasket. After letting the engine warm up for a good time, the TPS finally let the engine return to the correct idle RPM. I still have a very little slack in the accelerator cable that I could eliminate by...
Where can I find these? They seem to be made out of un-obtanium. I can only find the copper core plugs that are resistor. Maybe that is what I need? I dunno.
TIA
2001 Convertible. I have a bad ignition transceiver. I got "Theft" unless I moved the tilt wheel up or down a few times. I have a broken / frayed wire from the transceiver to the harness. I have accomplished 99% of the removal process, but I can't figure out how to remove the connector from the...
I bit the bullet and dropped the rear of the IRS after effing with the filter clips for more than a day. Raise the rear, disconnect the exhaust tips and remove the cat back from the last hanger. Remove the long bolt from the frame and IRS on each side of the IRS and gently drop the rear with a...
1) Depends on shipping cost. If the total cost gets close to a new set I'd just get the new set.
That is what I am thinking.
2) Probably normal wear and tear. I was lowered about 1.75" and never had any issues. And I drove that car.
Thanks, that gives me some peace of mind.
3) If you don't...
Several years ago, I replaced the OEM struts with some used Bilsteins off of a 03-04 Cobra. A while ago, I went out for a short drive and hit a very small bump and "Bang"!. WTF? When I pulled into my garage, I noticed some moisture on the driver side rim. Upon closer inspection, the Bilstein...
He would probably have better luck finding a ham sandwich in Tel Aviv. I ran into a receiver hitch on a pickup truck ahead of me at a toll booth. The front clip was about to fall off and I had to use some zip ties to get home (350 +- miles). The body shop, the insurance company and I looked all...
You should use the IAT2 port, not the IAT. Block that off. Also, the 90MM MAF is a requirement. Get one for a Lightning or Terminator.
Edit: You will need a tune after installing the 90MM MAF.
Hmmmm. It sounds (no pun intended) like it might be something else. I have Vogtland springs, no ISOs. As you know, there is a lot of pressure once the springs are compressed. I don't see how they can move around once the full weight of the car is on them. Are you using after market CC plates? If...
Hah. When I was swapping my rear springs (dropping the rear of the IRS) I was told that it would be a good time to change the fuel filter. "Ah, how hard can that be to do it later?" Two days to change the filter. Yup, I gave up and lowered the IRS again.
Yep, I poked a hole and broke the tabs on mine when I ran into a receiver hitch on the back of a pickup truck. The body shop, insurance company and I could not find one in the US, not even a replica. They finally had to put a Terminator bumper on. Bummer.
Yeah, I hear you (or maybe I can't hear you). I have the Bassani cat backs and the drone @ 2000 - 2300 RPMs is pretty annoying and it is right in the 65 MPH area in 5th gear. The set I have also came with some resonators that fit into the tips. They help some but not much. I don't think there...
Oh, I didn't notice the spots where the fogs should be. Maybe someone was setting up a twin turbo? All I know from experience, if you use a Terminator front bumper on a New Edge, you need to also change the fogs and wiring harness. Good job on spotting the front bumper fog area.
I don't know what you are trying to do, but those 99-01 front bumpers are as rare as hen's teeth. I also have no idea what a shaved rear bumper is. Sorry if I couldn't help more.
I had bought some (all four) used Bilsteins from an 03-04 Cobra and I have lowered with Vogtland (1.6") springs. One of the used struts blew out. My assumption, and you can correct me, is that the stock Bilsteins from the 03-04s were HDs. My plan is to get some HDs for the front. Thanks.
Are HDs (B8s?) the way to go and not too harsh of a ride for just a cruiser? My 01 is lowered at least 1.6" (Vogtland) so which to you think: would it be better to have them re valved as HDs or stick with the OEM valving (B6?)?
