0-160 KB Cobra video

is it just me but my car shut off when I passed 160? A buddy is sending me the video so I can look more closley.

Could you please quote where I said it couldnt be a KB... All I was saying was it just didnt move along as quick as I would have expected after everything Iv heard about the KB. Thats all. No offence to you or your car. I didnt accuse you of lieing, I didnt say your car didnt have a KB, I just said I would have thought a KB Cobra would have got to 160mph alittle bit quicker than that in comparison to the chip and pullied Cobra.

All that means is the KB must help out more at the lower end. Again nothing against the KB, im not BSing or flaming im just saying... :shrug:

Anyone want to do a near stock video? Don't have anything to compare it to. :) I do believe that the stock might surprise.

Well to be honest im not sure why 160 has became the popular number (I think alot of guys just want to show the world that this car is indeed capable of using all of that Speedo).

Iv seen a stock 03 run to the limiter (155) IMO as quick as that speedo hopped across, it looks like with the stock engine, it could run upward of 180 with the proper downforce/aero dynamics.

soryr o3cobrabro just read your post wrong, also that vid of broke7 you posted he is well into first gear at 3 k rpms and pedaled it in first, I had to shift pretty quick to second becuase of the spin but thats my own fault, ill try to make one of me going even faster than 160 if i can get the digital speedometer to work.

I have a bone stock one that runs up to 155... (all of the videos im posting have been posted by the original drivers at one point or another... I figured they would have piped in by now)

Simple mistake, no problem. And I must say the numbers these guys are getting with the KB dont lie either, so the advantage a KB Cobra has over an Eaton is quite obvious.

The KB is more efficient than the Eaton is. You can run more boost with the KB w/o killing it like you would with the Eaton with a 2.8 pulley. It seems that people are making more power with the KB's compared to the Eaton. I don't know, just an observation I made.

stock shift light did not light up at 6500 I dont think... he had to have been chipped and with chip comes pulley.... The blower was louder than mine if that was stock. maybe I am wrong but that is just my .02. I still think the kb sounds better and the numbers do not lie as all dyno's are done in fourth gear so the kb's cant be all in the lower gears. I dont know what else to say so Im gonna go to bed. Im tired. Later guys

If he was chipped you would have fooled me... the car jerked more, which looked like it was shutting down at 155, than simply releasing the gas pedal.

Wish I could find the original thread that was posted on. Im a man with no life and I seem to have a bad habbit of proving people otherwise, so Ill see if I cant dig it up. :D

0-160 reply

Are you sure that you have not changed the re3ar end gear in this car and not recalibrated thew speedo? You know, like a 4.10? Then you would have done about a 0-130 which is more realistic. Were you running race gas in this video and making the full 586 to the tire? I have a coupe that makes about 460 rwhp on 93 octane and about 500 with a splash of race gas. Even with a 3.08 gear it more anxiously runs though the lower gears. But I dont think it charges that hard on the top end. I have a Video of my 02 Z06, here it made 512 rwhp in hot wether i guess it has a similar charge up to 140. But it just hoses tires in the first 2 gears. In this video , it was on BFG drag radials and what sounds like a 2-3 gear change was actualkly me pedaling it. I did this on a concrete interstate and the 300 feet of rubber was there for weeks....

Im not trying to start a flame here, I just didnt think the shift light went on at 6500. Mine went on at 1800 then never came on again... :shrug: When mine hits 160, it sounds like the engine blows and my car jerks forward. Like a rev limiter. I am chipped:shrug:
