Except that doesn't make sense because until 03-04 LS1's generally had the upper hand on Cobras and still did by a little in 01.

A 97 Cobra stock vs a stock LS1 doesn't have the upper hand. Unless the LS1 is a turd.

Agree in most cases when talking stock vs stock.. but a nicely modded N/A Cobra would give an LS1 a good run. Just saying that you can never assume that an LS1 will always beat an N/A Cobra. Each situation is different and it could simply come down to how well either car is maintained, level of modifications, traction, gearing and the all important "driving". Assuming and or bench racing on random street encounters will get you nothing but a hurt ego.

Personally, I never downplay any car especially with the availability and low cost of FI setups. Can't even downplay a Yugo anymore. :beer:
