You should be able to beat him slightly but be careful as these cars don't feel as fast as they are because the smooth power delivery and they pull up top too. Make sure you are not heat soaked.

Sounds like we have a race. Need to get my QA1's dialed in before this.
The op should be able to run mid 11's with 500rwhp. If the vert has no weight reduction it's closer to 3900lbs.

Thought the vert was 3780lbs...
The verts weigh 3720 with no driver. The coupe weighs 3660 with no driver.

Holy crap there alot heavier than i had originally thought. My gt was 3500 with me in it im 210lbs.

Just saw there is an E85 fueling station up the road from me...perhaps an E85 tune is in order prior to the race...
If OP's car really does weigh 3,900 lbs, and he is putting 500 hp to the ground, there is no way it's running mid 11s on Nitto street tires. Most of the '13 GT500s haven't run mid 11s with launch control, weighing 3,850 lbs, and putting 600 hp to the ground.
