If anyone with an 08 or 09 has replaced thier balancer with the IW one, I would be interested in buying the used OEM one. PM me. Thanks.

I believe you would be better off buying the 08/09 Balancer new, since you will need a new bolt to reinstall it. They only run 289.00 new.

**Factory bolt cannot be re-used so XXXXX includes a ARP 190,000 PSI re-usable bolt! <---FROM MMR. I'm sure u can go buy a bolt from ford if u get a used one. I'd hate to see the mess a loose balancer would leave behind.

What are the benefits of the 08-09 balancer? When did Ford start installing them? Do all of the 08s have them?

I copied this from Evolutions site:

2008 Shelby GT500 Harmonic Balancer with Bolt
$295.00
This is a MUST Upgrade for 2007 Shelby GT500 Owners.

The stock 2007 balancer weighs 22lbs, which is way to much weight to be on the end of a crank.

Ford realized this and for 2008 they put a balancer on that weighs only 9.7lbs.

Benefits
-Less rotating weight
-12.3lbs lighter then the 2007 balancer
-A must for supercharger upgrades

same hp and same reving

the size is the same

im sure the 08-09's put about 1-2Hp and 1-2TQ more than the 07's due to less rotating mass. also allows a little faster rev. but im sure you could not notice it from driving one from another stock for stock.
