So went to the local track for the third time yesterday, fisrt time with the Nitto dr 315 mounted. Having some times in front of me, i made 4 runs all in the 12's. Those tires made a world of difference considering that my previous best was 13.86@109 mph...

So it goes like this worst 12.86 to a best of 12.51.
Details on the 12.51 is,

Reaction .953
60 feet 1,967
mph 116,52
1/4 12,51

for an unknown reason no 1/8 time on the slip... aniway seat time and better tire and its a different ball game, still room to do better!

Ben,

Video of the run here... Im in the Coupe [email protected] mph

Nothing wrong with nittos on your set up. My 315's work practice rolling out the clutch about 3500 rpms get those 60 foot times down and theres your low 12's. I ran a few 12.00's with 1.7 60's with 8.1-3 1/8ths (t56 didnt want to go in second). That was with my irs and 275 nittos at 15 psi.

If you're having trouble with the Nitto's and you can afford it then get some stickier tires than them. Or do what is suggested here and more practice.

Just learn to launch them. I launched mine around 4k....20psi.

Ran 12.29@114
1.79 60ft.

:dancenana:

Yeah, i was running them at 30 psi that day and no ALL PRO burnout, next time i ll start to drop the pressure a bit and rev the car more.

^It seems I've allways heard the Nitto's really need to be heated more than other tires.

My best passes on nittos came at 14 to 16lbs with a good smokey burnout and about a 4000 rpm launch. Let off the clutch fast, but smooth and mash the throttle at the same time. Has to be a really smooth motion. I've had a 1.70 60' on 18" nittos.

Good info... more i watch my vid i think i was releasing my clutch a bit fast, and mash the throttle a bit late.. so i let the rpm goes down too much, i will work on that on my next visit . I think my shifting is not bad for a guy who dont power shifts, Getting off the line seems the key.
