Now that dodge reviled the new hell cat has 707 hp. Which car do you think is going to be faster 0-60 and quarter mile?

Which car do you think can tolerate mods better. I personally think a modded GT500 will always roast any modded Dodge product.

Still a lot of information that needs to be released before I can judge. From all the nutswinging going on by the Dodge crowd on this site, you'd think they dropped a 5.0 with a REDACTED mod into the damned thing. Getting old quick.

No point of having the Z/28 on the list. The first 3 guys to get there Z/28 had them out to the tack in the first 2 weeks they had them just not a drag strip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AS8uEuxNAo . At the 1:26 mark the drive open up the Z/28 ( got tire warm up ) good battle with some Z06 vetts at the end . The 5gen Camaro Z/28 forum is all about road racing .

The gt500 will win. Power to weight is better. The auto transmission will create a lot of parasitic loss as well.

I'd like to think the gt500 would take it. But at this point with my gt500. I am a little jealous that they have a auto option. If a car is going to stay stock then throw the auto away. But for the track with big mods the auto should be superior. Assuming it will hold up.

Comparing the new Z06 with a Shelby or Hellcat on the dragstrip is a waste of time...................stock vs. stock. A Z06 will eat both of them for lunch and spit out the bones.

A Shelby won't win any contests on the dragstrip again stock vs. stock against a Hellcat (from the info so far unearthed about it)..............as the majority of them have the stupid 1-2 shift grind issue. Solve that problem and it would be a good match but against an auto Hellcat will be a tough go.

Power To Weight

The gt500 will win. Power to weight is better. The auto transmission will create a lot of parasitic loss as well.

I don't think that will be the case but...:read:
Here are the power to weight for the cars.

ZO6----3450*650HP=5.30
GT500--3850*662HP=5.81
Hellcat--4450*707HP=6.29
Z28-----3850*505HP=7.62

My GT500--3750*662=5.66

ZO6 is the clear winner and with a 8-Speed Auto it will beat the rest.
1st ZO6 Auto / 2nd Hellcat Auto / 3rd ZO6 7-Speed / 4th GT500 6-Speed / 5th Hellcat 6-Speed

Stock for Stock this is a fair list and the Auto will have a better 1/4 mile then the 6 and 7 Speeds.

My bone stock 2014 GT500 is a base model 820A with zero options / my reg say's *3750 lbs

3750*662=5.66 So even my base model as light as they come does not beat the 2015 ZO6

Still Very Happy with my car and happy about all the cool new cars like the ZO6/Hellcat/Z28

Modded then the sky is the limit but stock for stock i love my GT500 :)

Z06 on different level. As for rest. Driver and tire always in play. Luckily we only need to bang 3 gears in the 1/4. I don't know if hellcats extra 45hp will outway it's extra weight against the GT500. Can't wait to run one

The ZL1 clone, all day. Love all of them but nobody's keeping up with that light, aerodynamic rocket.

...hmm people still race STOCK? LoL. Let me know when you see those STOCK GT500's tearing up the drag strip.

..and if the Hellcat costs a ton of $$ to mod. Kind of makes it pointless for most.

Not sure why the Z06 is on the list.. Lets add the Bugatti Veyron to the list while we are at it then. Muscle Car Class has the requirement of BACK SEATS. If I wanted only two seats I would go back to my Viper. New vettes look a bit fugly to me. I'll take a slower car any day over UGLY and fast.

There's no doubt the 8-speed will run a quicker 0-60 and 1/4, I think it will run a lower trap speed than a stock GT500. Remember that MM&FF ran a 3.73 equipped 2013 and dropped .4 in the 1/4 with just the one mod.

The new ZO6 will be the quickest the GT 500 and the hellcat should be close if the gt driver takes care of business and both have tires that work the gt 500 will come out on top, due to weight difference, but we will just have to wait and see.
