Thank you for all the help guys.

The car is back up and running.

The comp cams 35-351-8 with the 1.7 cobra rockers is sweet.
Factory cam:
- 208i/224e (274/290) at .050; .476" lift i/e; 115.5 lsa
- IO:3dATC IC:21dABC EO:44dBBC EC: 0dBTC at .050
Comp Cam 35-351-8:
- 218i/224e (270/276) at .050; .544" lift i/e; 114 lsa
- IO:1dATC IC:39dABC EO:50dBBC EC:6dBTC at .050 (from Comp Cams)
- IO:27dBTC IC: 63dABC EO:74dBBC EC:22dBTC at .0060 (on Comp Cam Card)

The gt40x heads work nice too. ...too bad they cant be seen with all the stuff on top and aside of the engine. I used the GT40 valve package and the updated M-6350-A50 springs (more seat and full open pressure than in the 2010 catalog, Ford Racing changed the springs in February 2010; can tell the difference by spring diameter: updated springs are 1.460", older style are 1.500").

Must say the idle has more lope (noticable) yet is much more drivable (doesn't have the down low bucks the factory cam had, nor the 'come on strong' peaks at 3000 and 4500 rpm - I may miss those), overall the comp cam has much smoother transitions. Still has the torque down low but with the additional ift and heads has a much stronger pull at mid range.

I had plenty of piston to valve clearance with the factory dished pistons (more than .125" intake and exhaust) with the cam installed straight up (4d advance is ground in)

I had to reset the idle, set base (spout removed) timing to 10btdc, otherwise this is all bolt on, plug and play.

Yes, there are stronger cams out there for a 351; but I wanted something to replace the factory flat tappet with a roller (for longevity with today's oils and still be computer compatible and sound/perform similar the original while getting closer to optimizing the upper and lower GT40 intakes and factory fuel system...I think I met those goals)

I'm going to get a dyno run and the car tuned for my own piece of mind. Will let you all know the results.

...if your looking for something driveable without idle float and drivability issues this may be a decent combo.

Thanks again.
