I have a 2.8lc KB Mammoth kit on a 10' shelby. Right now the car has a 3.5 upper with a 10% lower and makes around 18psi. I am wanting to go with a smaller pulley and make around 23psi. What do i need to do to make this work without issues. I have bigger injectors and a boost a pump. Is it just a matter of changing the tune and using torco to boost the octane?

at 23 psi you will need a bigger injectors (80lb) and race fuel c16 or shell
and pry that your engine wont blow :D

at 23 psi you are going above 800-850 rwhp that's too risky for your stock motor

Good lord 23PSI ? What are you trying to beat ? 18psi with a KB should be able to whoop most things that are not full on race cars....or least be close.

GL....hope you get were you trying to go with this.

I am at about 18psi now and the car runs fine, i just thought i would try and take full advantage of the supercharger. I am making 678/615 now. I see guys claiming over 700 and in the high 600's on torque. If you are making this kind of power and drive it on the street let me know your setup. thanks!

That's what my 2010 made at about the same boost with 72 pound injectors, BAP and a Jon Lund tune. That was with the engine at 180-200 degrees.

I guess some making over 700 rwhp are on a stone cold motor. Some people also post STD corrected dyno numbers.

I wanted a little more. I planned on building my bottom end this past fall. But my '98 Expedition was nearing 300k and was in need of some work so I bought a 2008 TD F-250 and blew my bottom end build. I went with a 3.6 to make more HP at the same boost level as the 2.8 I had. As soon as I get my 4.10's in and a full 3" exhaust I plan on taking it to Fastlane to get a dyno tune. I hope it will make 770 at 19-20 psi and hope it will last.

I once had the 2.8 kb with the 3 inch pulley and stock lower 18psi

pump gas 682 rwhp...719rwhp c16

2.78 pulley stock lower... 21 psi it did 781 rwhp on c16

I made 715 with KB 2.8 w/3.25 upper 10% OD lower on 93oct w/torco.
That is about the limit for pump gas

Hmm....I'd like to get to 700RWHP on 93...no torco if possible...Or is that not possible?

Yes it's possible and been done before. Boost and exhaust back pressure. Spark advance and density air charge all play a big factor. I've made over 700 RWHP with a KB 2.8 and stock lower with a 3.00" upper without Torco.

It is possible. With proper headers, right tb, cooling fans, 18 psi, and the right tuner ( John Lund).
