Dyno's are also used (by every major automaker) to qualify an engine for durability and is very punishing on the engine. Ford blew up quite a number of Terminator engines on one to confirm the engine will survive before releasing it to production.

street pull tuning is actually more effective than on a dyno where load is simulated 90% of the time.

yea, that's what I hear. I don't think a dyno loads the engine like the car will.

So in terms of durability, and probably the safest way to go as far as modding your car would to just be pulley, tune, intake and exhaust rather than AM blower, fuel upgrades etc, etc? In terms of longevity of the engine I mean?
