Well,
I know it's not a mustang. I miss my shelby dearly, so, i've done some modifications to the new DD to see if I could get less bored.

The best way to descirbe owning a shelby and having to sell it for something slower is sleeping with a supermodel for a while and then never getting to sleep with anyone as hot as her again, you constantly have that feeling like you're missing something.

Well I was definitely missing the power of the shebly hardcore so I hooked up the new daily a little bit.

This was before the bigger turbo, this was with just a turboback exhaust and a tune vs. a fully bolted and tuned 350z

Cool car man... I picked up a Acura rsx-s not too long ago, bolted on a blower....and I love having it as my DD. I too swore up and down I wouldn't mod the thing.....but you know how that goes. You having AWD is a huge plus for crappy weather.

Thanks man, must be a quick little car! That K20 is quite powerful when boosted, and it rev's for days.

nice!! but, bye bye clutch :(

I should be ok for a while, peak torque is at a higher rpm with a lower load on the engine then it would with a stock turbo setup (high load/low speed/lots of torque sooner in the rpm band)

Were those pics taken at WCSU?

nah, they were taken at danbury mall

Pretty impressive numbers for AWD car but man it seemed like forever to hit the top on that dyno, LOL.

4th gear pull, started taking video late, missed the 1-2 shift =p, long gears, started at 2500 rpms, lots of lag :lol1:

did you go to The Shop or AMR? either way say bye-bye to the pistons. long time Suby owner, do yourself a favor and drop in Wiseco's 99.5mm. good luck. btw The Shop uses a 1.15-1.2 CF on thier dyno.

How is it barely faster than a 350Z? Ive ran alot of bolt on 350s and pull them like you did. I would expect to get spanked by an STI with your mods...

Edit: ok I see you were only exhaust/tune....explains it.

Been a long time Subaru owner/enthusiast myself. This being my second Subaru. The car is tuned on e85 for precisely this reason. Detonation is the reason why the ringlands crack. If you know anything about e85 you know its rated at a higher octane due to the cooling properties as well as the nature of ethanol. This should help prevent any detonation, therefore prolonging the length of my motor.

The car will need pistons eventually, but for now, this will do.

Car has conserative timing, and see's a maximum of 21.75 psi in 4th gear, again, car has more in it with an intake and fmic, but we stopped at a semi conserative tune.

Yeah, just wanted to show the difference. The car did 272whp then and still walked a fully bolted and tuned 350z, just trying to give an idea of what she's capable of with 130 HP more

the boost pressure is what cracks the ringlands. plenty of E85 cars have popped pistons. good luck. the 09's are notorious for popping stock.

Actually it started with the 07s, continued over to the 08s until the stop sale where Subaru came out with a ecu reflash known for the notoriously horrendous stock tune due to knock control and a very lean conditon during the open loop to closed loop fueling transition....this lean condition also occurs at rev limiter.

I appreciate your concern but I've looked into this with great detail or I wouldn't have considered e85, or a larger turbo. Less 09/10/11s models have popped than the amount of 07s and 08s that were failing left and right. While it did happen in 09/10/11 models, the magnitude of failure is no where near the previous years.

Plenty of success stories have come out.of the forums as well.

And if "boost pressure" is the culprit, why would it pop pistons at stock boost in stock cars? Doesn't make sense.
It's a knock control issue mixed with shitty pistons.
Cheers.

Looks like mine. lol But I have 70 less horsepower. Ive thought about doing the switch to E85 too. It's my favorite DD to date. I've taken out a couple Mustangs, vettes and 6.0 GTO's. Fastest 1/8th to date is is a 7.9. Get's a lot of looks but every ricer/tard wants to race you.
