Although the 5.0 is a spectacular vehicle in every way, I have to disagree with you on that. I would say stock vs stock, a 5.0 is closer to a M6 LS2 vette. MPH indicates the actual power a car puts out and et is driver's responsibility, (i.e tires, suspention etc.) Many LS2 and LS3 guys are running low 120s with bolt ons only. Many LS3 guys are running mid 120s with bolt-ons. add a cam to the equation, and LS3s are running 126-130s. There are many LS2s running bottom 11s with high 120s mph traps cam only. Many stock LS3s are running 117-120s, A6s included. I think time will reveal the true potential of the 5.0s and you will see how well the 5.0s really et. I would love to see a 5.0 with slicks, skinnys, 4;10 gears and bolt-ons run, using an average driver and not a magazine driver, or shop. I am willing to bet the 5.0 will see mid to bottom 11s @ 118-120. I am really considering buying a 2012 automatic now as a daily driver.

He's was referring to the LS3 engine, not specifically Corvettes.

Are there any new 11+ gt's with motor work done? I know they just came out and all.... I have seen already a few big cam and heads LS3's make around 550rwhp..its a pretty big cam but still awesome numbers...

There is only one, JPC's car made 507rwhp with stage 1 heads/cams and an unported Boss intake manifold.

No real extreme N/A examples out there yet, these are high revving modular motors with variable valve timing, IMO, the most impressive ones will have power adders.

Have you seen the A6 qtr mile times compared to the 6spd times? The A6s are going a tad faster than manuals and trapping within 1mph of manuals stock for stock.

I have. I didn't intend to imply they were slower, only that several nice options are omitted from the auto cars, specifically drivetrain related. They perform incredibly well at the track (both road course and drag).

EDIT, a friend of mine just picked up a '12 GT with a M6, 3.73's and the Brembos up front. Really nice car. I am interested to see how it does.

The 6L80E can hold some 150hp/150tq more stock than a 4L60E/4L65E can. Best of all, they're roughly the same size and the same weight thanks to the sophisticated design and electronics of the 6L80E.

I was told the opposite on the Vette forum.

Nevertheless, the Vette is the faster car obviously.

You're Wrong! 2.56 and 2.76 gearing are in FACT a gear option available for the 6L80E A6 '06+ C6s. The '97-'05 C5/C6s had the 4L60E/4L65E A4 tranny with 2.73 and 3.15 gear ratios available.

The 6L80E is an actual heavy duty transmission. Everything about the design is better. Everything about the internals is stronger. The 6L80E can hold some 150hp/150tq more stock than a 4L60E/4L65E can. I wish GM would have use the 6L80E in my TBSS instead of that crappy 4L60!!!! :bash: But I know it was a money thing!!!!!!
