so im thinking either one of these 2..

i found a guy who is selling his 2012 mustang today but he has 2013 lights on im going to call and ask about how much and how difficult the swap was..

the 2nd option is to swap out the base lights to the 2012 premium ones, part numbers for the premium lights would be helpful cause i searched everywhere and i couldn't find anything

I don't think in 11 or 12 premium necessarily means HID lamps, pretty sure they were still an option. All 13 cars have HID's on the other hand, even base V-6's.
The 11-12 headlights sell for about $1000 apiece and the wiring pigtails are another 40 or so each. The high beams will not work without some rewiring, at least they didn't with my car.

Halogen lamps supply 12v to the low beams then remove that and supply 12V to high beams when the switch is activated. HID's on the other hand need 12V on the low beams at all times, high beam powers up the shutter which normally blocks the upper part of the light off.

I did find that all 12's supposedly have the same Smart Junction Box which is the passenger side kick panel fuse box. It's also a programmable module. I programmed it with data from an HID equipped car and the high beams still didn't work.

You can build a relay circuit to make everything work normally or perhaps add in diodes. I never did get to finish the project..

I like the look of the consistency of the stock HID's on my 5.0...

Maybe look at something else to change it up?

YMMV
