Just read on Autoweek the hellcat will have 707 HP and 650 TQ. It will come with 2 keys. The black key will only allow 500 HP. Wow.:D

I saw one last week at the convention center in Detroit. It's a good looking car, but is just so big. I'll be interested to hear the official weight. I had a feeling it would put out more HP than the Shelby, but wasn't really expecting 700+!

This. I'm curious how much tire dodge will stick under this car. The 8spd auto will be a fast car though and will probably beat the 13-15 GT500 stock for stock in the 1/4.

Probably? This thing is going to destroy a GT500 in a straight line with an 8 speed auto.

The ball is in your court now Ford!

Remember when that ZL1 was hyped up and couldn't crack the 11's? Pepper ridge farm remembers.

Hope this 707 crank hp chally can crack 11's. With an 8sp auto, I'm very curious to see what it does.

Maybe, maybe not. If it in fact weighs 4450 which is 600ish lbs heavier than the gt500, I think it will be alot closer auto or no auto. Remember the Gt500 is still 640 from the factory, so this is 67hp +...not such a huge advantage IMO.

We shall see but I'm going to stick with my guess. You get both of these in a 1/4 mile race as they came from the factory and I dont see the GT500 having a chance. More power, more tire and a far superior transmission should counter the weight difference.

If it has skinny meats out back then it will fight for traction just like the GT500. If the weight stays around 4400 then it also has 500+ lbs on the GT500. As a rule of thumb, if you drop 100 lbs it's like gaining 10hp. But gaining 10hp is not quite like dropping 100lbs. So 707-50=657. Now the power to weight ratio is close to that of the GT500. This is why I say probably. The auto IS going to make a difference in the 1/4. From a roll it should be close if the GT500 can shift really well. In the curves I think the GT500 will kill it.

So many unknowns. What is the weight. RWHP. Drivetrain loss for the auto. Tire. Etc. etc.

I for one am glad to see it. Keep the competition coming! I wish it was still American owned though.
