Interesting that they prefer the 3.31's over the 3.73's for the Texas tracks...

It's because we are using the huge mid-range torque of the GT instead of using the upper-rpm horsepower of the Boss. We've moved a lot of customers to the 3.31 and by changing the rev range they drive in, and their shift points, they have lowered engine temps and gone faster on track.

I own both a Boss and a 2015 PP car. I ran the 2015 at Daytona and would have rather been in my stock Boss. Although, I did get into my Boss S racecar and never did drive that 2015 GT again... I just missed breaking into the 55's at 1:56.01 second lap at Daytona in a Stock-engined Boss S....

I'm looking forward to the 2015/16 S or R model coming out. It will be a better car... We just need to get the chassis sorted a bit more...

Dean. You think Ford will make a new club racer like the 302s?

Well, proof is in the pudding I guess. Terry from Vorshlag Racing hot lapping a 2015 GT PP and getting 2+ seconds faster than any stock Boss 302 he's seen/driven on that track.

Honestly, for them to make make a conclusion using an app on a Galaxy S4 is not very scientific. Randy Pobst tested both the Boss and the S550, but not on the same track. Car and Driver wasn't able to include the S550 in their 2014 Lightning Lap.

I'll wait for those ...

Its a GPS app, same as any timing software, and that app is actually VERY accurate and widely used. A lot of the videos you see on youtube are done with Harry's Lap timer.

I guess you could surmise something based on this. The 1LE beat the boss 302 by 2.5 seconds per lap*. And the 1LE beat the '15 GTPP by 1.5 seconds per lap*. But it wasn't equal rubber or same venue. Or same driver. Etc. Etc.

* found by googling around.
