As Focus fans, we have long been jealous of Europe. They always get the good stuff first. Ford is finally sharing the same car with the entire world, but Europe still got the first crack at these impressive machines. We have been fortunate enough to ride in the new Focus RS, and after that tease we are still eagerly anticipating an opportunity to drive one.

When that time comes, it’s unlikely it will be at a historic racetrack in the UK, so it’s pretty cool that Ford filmed some 360-degree videos of drivers navigating the storied track. To get a feel for what it’s like to wheel the new Focus RS, watch Chief Engineer Tyrone Johnson rip around Stowe Circuit at Silverstone in Ford Performance’s hottest hatch. He even tries out the Drift Mode…

For the full 360-degree experience, you’ll need either the most up to date Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera browser installed on your computer. You can also use the latest YouTube app for Android or iOS and view it with Google Cardboard for the full VR experience.

For now the virtual experience will have to hold us over, but the real RS should hit the streets of the US in the near future and we can’t wait.

For more on the RS, you can learn about its creation from Tyrone here...

As Chief Engineer of the Focus RS, Tyrone Johnson has all the pressure of making the car worthy of the RS badge. Fortunately he gets to relieve some of that pressure by driving the finished product.

Ever wondered what it was like to drive around Silverstone in a Focus RS? Now you can do it virtually.
