Recently SCT has added a few parameters and we finished testing them on the dyno yesterday.
The result is we can now tune for up to 8400RPM without VCT reverting back to 0/0.

AED has an update for any customer with the SCJ/Boss setup that wishes to shift at 8K+. We are setting a 'soft' rev limiter at 8250 to allow a buffer to the 8400 cutoff and protect the Oil Pump Gears, however if for some reason your engine revs past the 'soft' limiter and taps 8400 cams will again revert back to 0.

From our testing on a 500RWHP NA car hitting the soft limiter at 8250 and staying in the throttle a little too long resulted in ~8350 RPM's. This could be a bit different for your application or if you spin the tires hard at the top of 1st or 2nd gear.
*Note* Comp Cammed vehicles with STOCK valve springs will not be able to use this as we see valve float on these applications at ~7800. Upgraded valve springs will be necessary for these applications in order to take full advantage of RPM.

The update is FREE to all AED customers, simply submit an email to: [email protected] requesting the update and make sure to include your First/Last name along with your vehicle information / modifications.

*Note* This is not the same as the HPT patch, this is the 'next step' in getting proper WOT shifts above 8K.

Thank you for the update. BTW what was the HPT patch?
HP has an OS patch for the 7750 hard limit some people were having problems with, it raised the limit to 8500.

On Manual trans cars we've had a fix for this for years, but VCT reverts back to zero is we tried to shift above 8K, now we don't have that problem.
