is there a particular build date when Ford introduced the 9 thread spark plug holes into the production of the 04 cobras?

My build date is 1/16/04 and have the 9 plug heads.

why would they stop and revert back to the 4 thread heads on the early 04's?

Car build date does not necessarily coincide with engine build date. Logic says that they would use engine stock in the order it was built but not necessarily. Only throwing out a possibility.

Did you buy the car new?

If not, have you verified service history at Ford?
