Agreed. The Z would've pulled hard up top.

NO. Here's what happened before they supposedly just "changed tire pressure" on the Z:

The track was a little bit wet because it had rained all night. The Nissan was first to run, and after four hot laps, Randy's best time around Barber's 2.4-mile circuit was 1:36.45. Next up was the potent Porsche, and it clicked off a quicker lap time of 1:36.34, beating the GT-R Track by 0.11 second. Finally, it was the Camaro's time to shine, but the best Randy could muster was 1:37.28. So there you go. The Camaro Z/28 lost to the bonkers Nissan and the German superfreak. The Chevy put up a good fight, but America, it seems, simply can't compete.

I don't care what GM-loving Motor Trend says...if you go out on a track day and try to run with either of those cars in a stock Z/28, it will not go well.

Anyway, congrats on the pick-up OP, lovely car.

Nope he did not pull '' hard on top '' if you read once again I'm not stock... Can also have another member vouch for my statement. Making up stories is for amateurs.

What makes you say this? Do we know that the GT350 will be a better performing car or just speculating?

That's discussion for a different thread. OP bought his Z28 and is happy. My question was directed towards his purchase timing and if a great deal spurred the purchase now instead of wait and see what the 350R pulls off. Z28s are very nice, no compromises road course vehicles.

That is an awesome car! Very cool! I have only seen one in person so far, and it was pretty bad ass looking!

What do used Z28s even go for? I know they are a little salty new, but, considering how well they perform, I can see why.

No matter what the gt350R pulls off, they are going to be ridiculously priced. Wouldn't be surprised at an 80k msrp. Maybe some stealer ships adding am to push it to 100k.
a regular gt350 would be the sweet spot, but those will have am too since it's the latest and greatest.

Back in december GM was knocking 15k off the 75k z28 to get rid of the 2014 stock. I think the z28 at 55 or less would be a great deal.

Awesome stable ! I remember last year when that Z went against Godzilla and the big bad 911 (Motor Trend I think?) and spanked em' both on a road coarse...that was all that needed to be said about how well that car handles. Dam.

Spanked em both huh lol...its amazing when ppl only read what they want to read

You speculated why he would buy this car instead of waiting on the GT350. I'm just asking if you have some info we don't have or something?

Oh, awesome car OP. Love the looks of the Camaro.

Badass ride. My local dealer has a white one and I stared at it for a good 5 minutes when I was there last week soaking in it's badass-ness. Can you post some interior pics?
