AFS reps and Toyo R888's... A few questions/opinions?

I'm ordering AFS 18x9/10.5 setup so I've searched thru multiple threads... Just looking to get some opinions.

The pics from the threads didn't help much. On the front I want the R888 to have no bulge and not quite square... So my question is since they run wide should I run a 255 in the front or possibly a 265? I saw the way a 275 was up front and didn't like the look of that.

On the rear I don't mind the bulge. From the pics I saw 315's looked good but could't tell if they had a bulge or were square/flat with the edge/face of the wheel. I also saw how the 335 looked and had a decent bulge.... Which would you run and y? 315 or 335?

My car currently sits on H&R Race with no front iso's and rear upper iso only. MM IRS low pro bolts. Having the rear fenders rolled and ordering spacers for the rear wheels.

I'm leaning towards 255 F and 335 R. Like I said just looking for opinions.
Thanks,
Juan

255's on a 9" rim are ideal and 315's on a 10.5. You can run a 335 with no problem and it shouldnt bulge too much. You could run a 265 in the front but it isnt necessary.

I have AFS replicas with 275 on the front and 315 on the rear. The "bulge" on the tire is evenly matched front and rear. The 275 is designed for a 9.5'' wheel, and the 315 is designed for a 11'' inch wheel.

I personally would rather have the tires matched in appearance front and rear than a skinny looking front tire with a rear tire that is exploding off the rim.

You also arent going to gain anything by going with a huge 335 on the rear. If anything it is going to hurt your performance. The tire is designed for a certain wheel width to optimize its contact patch with the road. My 315 and already pushed up in the center, leaving almost an inch on either side of tire. I cant even imagine what a 335 would do on a small 10.5'' rim.

And the "bulge" you are talking about it just part of how the tire is designed. I personally would want a some of that to help protect the wheel. The tire was designed as a race tire and doesnt come with a rim protection bead like most street tires.

I totally get what you're saying about them matching and contact patch, and I also don't like that fact that they don't have the rim protection but am willing to sacrafice that for grip which my car needs. I just really don't like front tire bulge but I also don't want front tire stretch either. Maybe a slight little stretch but not import car stretch if you get what I mean. Just looking for a happy medium...

Can you post up pics of the 275 bulging how you said it was. Interested.

About to post the pics I found on here up so everyone can see and compare.

That combo you have looks good. I think the 275 R888's run wider than those though... About to find all these pics and post them up so I can give examples.

Just using these as examples. If any of the members would like me to take down their pics, just say so and I will.

Those images of the first redfire cobra you posted with the venom plates are my buddies car. The 315's fit good and look pretty decent. Although, I think a 305's would be the best. The problem is the 305's cost considerably more money. He has 275's on the front. I think that is too big. I would run a 265 or possibly a 255 on the front.

Thanks for the info! I've pretty much decided on 255 fronts and probably 335 rears. I really like the way the rear looks on the last black Cobra I posted. I might change my mind back to the 315 though....

Go with the 255 fronts for sure. The stance will look good with a 315 or 335 in the rear. I like the 315 better but thats me.
