My car has been sitting in the shop, KB rebuilt my gen 1 2.2L, and this car is my daily driver. I spoke with an informed individual today from another shop about superchargers who indicated that upgrading to a 2.6 would be a lot better for daily driving because it turns slower and produces less heat etc (and obviously power). And as many know, the 2.2 gets SO hot.

With this said, do you guys feel it would be a safe move to upgrade? Or will daily driving the 2.2 @ 18psi be just fine? Sometimes I drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic and sometimes not. To me, it seems that so long as the oil level in the KB is appropriate, there should be no problems with overheating.

I appreciate your advice, experiences with this etc.

Did it for a while here. No issues although it has a small internal leak. I just top it off as needed!
