I got sent to a new site which is like living in real life IMAX and got a few photos I can share. Closest hospital is 7 hours away on a good day.

I have a boring mundane job. I do travel a lot in the state of WV but I'm never really remote. Good idea for a thread.

I did ordnance clean up on Umnak Island in the Aleutian Islands. Just a handful of people have been there since WWII. I have also worked at other remote areas where it takes days to get there by plane or boat.

What for? What is it you do?

Looks beautiful being untouched by humans. but not sure I could do that
Its a mine, I'm an electrician by trade. No I do not go underground. I spent the last two years working local building a federal max prison so this is a nice change.

It's beautiful, where is it? And do they mine? What is the living quarters like?
Better than a prison I hate working at a prison, it is just so depressing.

looks like a Gold/Silver mine?

So you are an electrician by trade. So I can presume that is why you are there. To keep those systems running.

That is pretty cool! I presume being contract work, how long are you to be stationed there?

If you like warm & humid, Guam is the place. Average temp. is 81*.
Guam cured me of ever wanting to live in a warm climate year round.
.
I spent a year on Saipan. I absolutely loved it.

For those that don't know, Saipan is the same island chain.

Gold, it's new construction, probably be here for a few months, maybe more. It's an 18hr trip each way and we are 14/7 shift so it'll get old

I run a performance shop, so suburbia is my abode.

Wanna trade?

I'll trade you for all the twin turbo and supercharged Ford / Mopars you can handle.

Speaking of, let me update my shop thread.
