Biggest development....looks like Ford finally got it right and simply made it an optional carbon fiber "Track Pack" instead of an R model. YES!
Could not agree with this more!

Fact: Since no official announcement has been made by FORD (don't think a document hasn't been doctored to fool anyone or a photo for that matter... that of which could be in fact part of a water to air intercooler since there is nothing at all showing it's a supercharger top; and if it is, nothing showing it's for the GT500).
Fact: It's ridiculous to say anyone is wrong at this point seeing how nobody has any legitimate proof whatsoever.
Man, the crazy thing here is that I've tried to save you from yourself a bunch of times in this forum, but you are obviously a serious glutton for punishment.
Basically everything you have ever posted is not just wrong, but virtually the exact opposite of the truth. Most of it literally had no basis in reality. Ever. They were never working on the stuff someone was telling you they were working on. I can't tell you why someone would tell that to you, it's super weird.
DepWraith said:Any chance this blown 5.2 will be an optional engine on the 2019 GT350 and not actually the GT500? Just food for thought...
No. Stop.
Ford doesn't give a shit about the Demon. It should be obvious to people with a brain after years of producing increasingly sports-car like pony cars.
Uh, yeah, it's not gonna be a "boulevard cruiser."
Just out of curiosity, when you guys refer to "auto," are you including a DCT in that terminology? Big difference between something like the 10-spd Auto and a 7-speed DCT...
Personally, I would never, ever, ever buy a sports car with a conventional hydraulic automatic transmission. The comparisons GM makes between the hydramatic and PDK are laughable. I'm sure it's fine for beep-beep-beep WOT and all that, but they still don't compare otherwise.
Functionality is one thing, but no conventional auto is gonna remotely compare to even a reasonably sorted DCT for track work IMO (speaking about entertainment value rather than numerical performance).
No, but I don't like anything as much as PDK. The GT DCT is a variation of the same Getrag 7DCL750 box that's in a shitload of other exotics (Ferraris, Mercs). It's not in or going in any other Ford.
Saying a DCT is purely about being quicker is a misconception IMO. I don't really care about a DCT being quicker, although I do think a DCT can make a car feel like it has 50 more HP due to the fact it essentially never stops accelerating at WOT.
A good DCT, to me, inspires the feeling of driving a legitimate race car. I defy anyone to get in a Radical SR3 with a sequential manual gearbox and tell me that the lack of a stick shift does anything but enhance the experience. Something like PDK-S gets you closer to that experience while still being livable on the street. I never leave DCT cars in full auto, even driving around town.
It is literally insane how little some of you guys know or understand about this shit, but I'll give you points for having still somehow formulated opinions about it.

If it's anywhere near 4100 lbs, my R will be the last Mustang I buy for a long time. I'll be hard pressed to buy one even at 3800 lbs. I'm sick of porky Mustangs.
Then do yourself a favor and bail on the discussion now.
If the rumors of it weighing near 4000 lbs are true, it's going to be exactly that; a boatload of compromises. With all the work Ford has been doing the past few years with carbon composites, there's no excuse for the next GT500 to be that heavy.
Dude, I'm trying to save you a lot of trouble here. If this is what you think, this car is not for you and you should bail now.
A GT350 already weighs 3800 lbs and there's a whole lot of extra shit on this car.
DepWraith said:I explained the production delays, which obviously came to fruition given the constant delay in the release of this car.
Maybe they decided to go with the TT 5.0 after all and that's the reason for the new delay? Anything is possible at this point. Maybe Ford wasn't anticipating Dodge when they chose to go forward with the blown 5.2 and have now realized they better go with the TT 5.0 they were working on? Makes a lot more sense that a TT 5.0 would back up the whole "Venom kills demons" quotes rather than a boring blown 5.2.
Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop.
None of it was ever legitimate. None of it.
Manual transmission uniquely overrated in America. I'm not saying I don't like driving a manual; my 06 GT has 30,000 miles of manual transmission usage but I don't find it to be the be all end all of enjoyment behind the wheel. It's a weird (not really) contest of manliness. I learned to drive in the UK; everyone drove shitbox manual transmission cars because they were cheaper and got better fuel economy so it was in no way a point of pride. Nothing special about that ability.
I'm not pouring out the 40 for a transmission. That's reserved for people. You'll find out shortly. 'just wait'
We've had this argument in here ad nauseam, but there is a big difference between driving an automatic slush box and a properly sorted DCT.
DepWraith said:No because that's not true DBK, he directly worked on the carbon fiber wing to ensure there was adequate downforce...I have had zero reason to lie.
Go ahead and post proof, any proof, you have of the countless times you have discredited many others without providing any yourself.
DBK said:Yeah, it's absolutely 100% true.

"Have you ever heard of a guy named Steve Walton?"
"No."
That was the extent of the conversation, which is what I figured it would be. Sorry man, but whatever your buddy did, you've continually had a metric ton of bad info that I'm sure you believe but is wrong.
DBK said:I'll make you a deal killer, if the GT500 is a 2019 5.0L TT with a 10-speed, I will literally give you my 2017 Ford GT. And then I will buy a 2019 5.0L TT 10-speed GT500, and I will crash my 2006 Ford GT into it, filled with 70 lbs of dynamite, while smoking a cigarette, covered in gasoline.
DBK said:Big tires.
DBK said:Ford chronically doesn't put enough tire up front. Fronts on this car are enough, and it should settle any debate about the purpose of the car.
DBK said:I can't wait to see this hot vee TT 5.0L 10 speed auto GT500. I'm really anticipating finding out what this car is all about because it definitely must have totally changed many times and is in no way exactly the same car it was always going to be, with the same hardware it was always going to have, dating back to conception.
DBK said:Properly sorted DCT is still better than that ZF 8-speed. DCT is always gonna shift faster (in reality), and I felt the ZF was excessively smooth in the Vantage, which makes sense for a bit of hardware that primarily is tasked with shifting smoothly in a wide variety of products.
DBK said:This has been discussed ad nauseam, the car is not under 3800 lbs, nor is that even a possibility. The car has a giant blower and all the cooling required to make it function in the capacity it's designed for (amongst other things). It's not magic. Give up this pipe dream.
DBK said:It is most definitely aimed at the track.
DBK said:People are getting ahead of themselves on this topic.
You still have posted zero info.
Whats the weight?
Worried your source will cut you off being for spilling the beans 12 hours early? Lol
This car appears designed with the same intentions as the 13/14, with a track pack available for those wishing to make it track capable. (I mean, if it really was aimed at the track to start with, would a track pack for a track car really be an option???)
Doesn't seem aimed at the track any more than the last ones we had.
So yeah, let's see some hard info from the Mighty DBK we can verify later..
It's no more hard aimed at a road course than the 13/14 or the track pack wouldn't be an option.
