One of my friends recently purchased an 03 Vert Cobra. Out of the four months she has had it its been in the shop over 2. So far its had to have:

New rear end (twice) - because they keep leaking

Mirrors loose, passanger door sagging

Had to have the entire engine replaced - Ford used plastic clips to clip the radiator hose to the engine and they melted and the engine got burned up

New A/C unit - And its messing up AGAIN

New CD Changer

She has already done the paper work to get it lemon lawed and the dealership already told her that they are 100% sure that Ford is going to take the car back from her. She is planning on getting an 04 Vert when that happens. Anyone else experience any of these problems?

Loose shock from the factory

Radiator Hose not secured, so it rubbed on lower pulley, made a nice mess.

TICK

Curbed wheel from the factory/dealer

Cracked Paint inbetween the humps on the hood

9k Miles and all the basic mods, and just one problem. The tires don't seem to last long and ford won't do anything about it!!!! :)

My Cobra had far more issues than that.

3 transmissions
4 Throw out bearings / retainer sleeves
all headlights replaced for condensation inside them
all tail lights replaced for condensation inside them
A/C thud
Rear end leak
Front A arms replaced for popping on inclines
Driver side head swap to fix the "tick"
Piston slap when cold (never addressed)

Your friend would be lucky compared to me. LMFAO

That's a real bummer. Mine has not had any of those issues. That sure could take all the fun out of owning this fun car.

wow. that's alot of problem you friend had. my car never had all those problems, the worst of all was the tick, and the dealership replaced the entire engine plus the clutch assembly.

good luck to your friend with the 04 cobra. :)

I didn't, Ford did.

It didn't solve my particular pop.

There are about 3 different "pops" some are the rear IRS improperly torqued. Some are the trunk lid shifting on the rubber seal during backing out of the driveway (I had that too), and some are somewhere in the front. Some of those were cured by replacing A arms. Mine wasn't.

Only problems I've had was the seat rubbing against the door and foglamps condensing up. Rear shock absorber was replaced because a piece came loose, but that was from regular NYC pothole driving. Havent had any major problems with the car so far, and I'm at 19k. Actually, my tranny was a lil stiff the first year I had it, felt like the gears were grinding when it was cold. But recently the past half year or so, its been shifting a lot smoother and quieter and I havent done anything to it. Maybe cause, I've also been driving it harder and the internals finally got a proper break in, lolz.

Hmm, they retightened my spoiler because it was pretty loose and now the damn thing creaks every time I go over a bump at low speed, needs some padding or something, but I don't have a "pop" back there.
