One thing I don't understand? Her parents geniunely seemed disappointed at the "Not Guilty" verdict and rapidly left the courtroom? Then why lie on the stand for your daughter? If they wanted justice they would have told the truth about Everything, not bullshit about pool ladders and Wesite searches?? Finally at the end George expressed his feelings about her guilt on the stand but it was too late after all the other lies!!That's what created some of the doubt for the jurors! Now the mom and dad are gonna have to live with what they did! The final nail in the coffin would be for the state to bring perjury charges against Cindy!

In Florida it has to be unanimous.
This is clearly a case of jury nullification. They heard the evidence and ignored it.
Baez did not make a case for reasonable doubt on aggravated child abuse part in parcel because he claimed that Casey was sleeping during the day while her child was able to access the pool. So, even if they didnt believe anything the prosecution stated, they needed to believe the defense's own statements.

I didn't watch this case from your perspective as an attorney; I watched it from the perspective of the 17 jurors. The state didn't even come close to proving their case and I think that showed when the Jury came back with not guilty after a relatively short deliberation.
I think the way the parents testified was enough to put in reasonable doubt, and I think that is what the parents wanted. Lets remember, someone had to tell the Defense about all the dogs George and Cindy had. There is no way Casey would remember all of the family pets!
I think the parents wanted to make sure she didn't get the chair, They may have gotten up in left so nobody could see the little joy they had. Don't get me wrong, I think they are still devastated over the loss of Caylee, but didn't want to also lose another child.

I'm shocked I must say, but I didn't listen to the case. Guess she will be partying like nothing ever happened. Just like jet lag put in his pictures.
In all honesty I knew she was gonna walk. In the jury's mind they followed the extent of the law and both sides had too many open ended questions and theories.
It was a horrible case for the prosecution.
