I read a lot of posts of guys swapping the 3:15's for 3.73's in there automatic mustangs and posting track results. My question is, how do the gears feel on the street? I daily drive my 5.0 and the stock gears are a little long winded.

Give me your impressions. Autos only please. My buddy has a 3.73 stick car and I know how that feels :D

Thanks

Curious on this too. From what I have read traction becomes the biggest issue and you need to go to a DR or 295. I would imagine 1st being useless as it is already low enough with the 3.15's. I would imagine using 3rd only most of the time around town. I think I would enjoy having 5th and 6th being more useful!

I have Auto with 3.73's. and they are great on the street. I know a few guys who went 4.10 and after lil while they went down to 3.73 and 3.55.

UPS dropped off my 3.55's yesterday. Going to have them install next week. I hope I don't regret not getting the 3.73's

Na I dont think you will. I had 3.73s on my other 11GT manual, and now 3.55s on my current 11 GT/CS manual, and there is no noticeable difference for me at least. The 3.55 gears pull hard and I can chirp 4th no problem.

I have auto with 3:73; I'm happy. I didn't buy this ride for gas mileage nor to I worry about it. Bad Intention has 3:73s , tq convert, pro chgr and turns low 10s.

I have a set of 3.73 that I'm unsure if I'll get them installed. I may not need a 3.73 set if I decide for a power adder.

I have 4.10s on the shelf, they'll be going in in January.

I had 3.70s in my G8GT. The 6L80 has similar gear ratios to the 6R80. (4.03 vs. 4.17, 1st gear). I had a 3200Yank in that car.

I loved it, it made that car feel 1000lbs lighter.

I'm going with 3.55's myself but I'm on the highway all the time and average 80-100 most of the time but want my car to feel a bit tighter down low.

What i want to know is if I can calibrate my speedo with my Procal? There is a choice up to 3.73's but I don't know if it works for auto?
