Auto Shift RPM's

I see most tuners set the shift RPM's on an auto at 7K some as high as 7500. Yet looking at dyno's it seems the engine starts losing power around 6500. Has anyone tried different shift points and had better results with the rpm set at 6800 or found better at 7K plus?

I had a tune that shifted at 7300-7400 rpm had my shift points changed to 6900-7000 and picked up and mph and et..

Really just depends on car an mods. I have my car shift at 7250rpm I'm all stock tune only an ran my fastest at that shift points
