This forum moves so fast that I wouldn't dare take the time to read all the threads from the past 100 days!

Other than the release of the 10th anniversary models, and the big news that the Predator is STILL just two weeks away *enter heavy sarcasm note here* , is there anything noteworthy that I've missed?

I still need to post a pic of the custom heat shield that RaceRat and Doug at BilletFlow custom did for me, now that It's on the car.

BTW, 'Racy, I saw those numbers you've dyno'd with your KB. As a Toad would be, I'm green with envy!!

Nice to have you back. It seems like the only news around here is everyone getting their Kenne Bells and loving life LOL! A lot of talk about nitrous and believe it or not many people are using the spray with awesome results. Havnt seen any posts about blown motors but the rear end leak is still around. Many people are having their "tick" repaired by having the head replaced. This seems to cure the problem. Some cars have been having an overheating problem which seems to be due to air in the cooling system. Bassani is reeping great results with their Mid Length Headers but the difficulty to install has pushed some people away. Other than that, it has been the usual what works what doesnt talk! See ya around!

1. The tick is still available as an extra option.
2. 315/35/17 Nittos will fit on a stock rim.
3. 315/35/17 Nittos will fit on a AFS 17x10.5" rim.
4. The transmission and its various components are still subject to failure.
5. The rear-end and its various components are still subject to failure.
6. The additional rear end popping noises can now be syncronized with the latest Snoop Dog release.
7. The paint still chips.
8. You can buy the car at cost plus a $2500 rebate now.
9. The car still weighs too much.
10. The car can and will stall at its discretion.
11. Stock Idler Pulleys can and will fall apart while shredding your belt.
12. Kenne Bell units are available for sale still.
13. Aftermarket exhausts are loud and do drone at times.
14. All aftermarket exhausts offer the best sound and performance but the Borla Stinger, Steeda, Bassani, Magnaflow, MAC, QMP, FR500, FRPP, Flowmaster, and custom units are the best.
15. Ditto for all CAI units.
16. Wheel hop is another factory option.
17. The stock tires will spin and should be replaced before they are bald.
18. All aftermarket springs and shocks work (hehe) but coil-overs are still cool.
19. The brakes fade after repeated stops. Pads from Porterfield, CarboTech, SBS, Hawk, and others will help.
20. Chips and pulleys will void your warranty but so will a stupid service writer and an aftermarket air filter.
21. Oil and transmission fluids should still come from tier one suppliers along with the oil filters.
22. MM IRS bushings will help the wheel hop condition.
23. The car will still hop in certain conditions after spending thousands on the rear-end.
24. If you only drag race then a solid 8.8 axle should be used.
25. BFG drag radials and ET Streets are slick in wet weather.
26. The passenger seat will rub the door.
27. Superchips, Autologic, and Diablo are the best chip suppliers.
28. The car will run lean with any chip listed in number 25 without a good tune.
29. Good tuners are available in most major population centers.
30. The hood blanket mod works.
31. H-pipes and X-pipes both work on the car.
32. Aftermarket rims and spoilers can be installed on the car.
33. Aftermarket gauges are better than the stock units.
34. Non-slip pulleys still slip and will shred Gatorback belts.
35. The best drivers get the best times.
36. Traction control should be turned off in most situations.
37. The car is faster than a Honda S2000 but slower than twin turbo corvettes.

I think that covers everything while you were gone, of course I did miss a few items.... but those would only improve your car.
;-)

Welcome back....

anybody want to see a video of my stock 03 with exhaust pull away from an s2000 with a supercharger? He really thought he could take me! The video has 2 races from a roll and one from a stop. I took my mods off for warranty work and he wanted to see how his car could do against a stock 03. It was fun!

Did you get El Sapo engraved on the heat shield? The most interesting thing ( to me anyway ) is that Doug & Hermann are both working on transmission upgrades. Doug posted that he is having his T-56 upgraded to Viper input & output shafts and having it "smoothed out" to improve shifting? Hermann is doing about the same and working on an auto with manual shifting! Sound like great stuff in the works.

Quite the reception! :)

'Racy, I'll be making a trip down to SA sometime in the next month or two. Have your blue snake ready for inspection :)

The CAI shield was duplicated in aluminum, anodized the same red as the car and TB, then Dougy engraved the toad design on it. It's probably cheesy to most, but always dare to be different ;-)

Bingo, thanks for the heads up there. I'm sending you a free sample of paxil

RedfireVenom, It's the Cosmic-Cobra mojo at work :)

Dave, If it wasn't you saying so, I wouldn't believe it, but we ARE talking about Ed now, aren't we ;-)

Rick, I saw the pics of your shop. Lookin' good  And I hope the turbo setups workout. I'm a purist in some senses of the word, and would feel funny putting a turbo on my ride, but I am glad that someone respectable is working on the turbo projects for the 03 Cobra's. It'd feel the same to me to attempt to put a Stroker into a VW bug :D

It's good to be back.....I've missed sticking my foot into my mouth!
