belt squeak VMP blower - gates belt

guys i have this belt on my 03 cobra, it squeaks like hell for the first 10 minutes after startup.

any auggestions for a different brand or length?

i dont know the exact pulleys on it but its making 21lbs of boost.

I've been getting that lately with the gates hd green belt. I bought two gatorback belts. Hopefully those last the summer...

I had the same problem. I switched over to Dayco last year and all has been good.

Try taking the belt off and flipping it around. Like if the numbers are rightside up looking down at it, make it so they are readable from the engine side.

Seems strange, but someone else suggested it and it fixed the same issue you are describing.

Gates is famous for this. I went through two or 3 gates belts all squealed. Swapped over to Gatorback (Continental) and it went away.

I run the Gates HD green belts on mine. About once a year they start the squeaking at start up for a few minutes. I swap them to a new belt and are good to go for about 12 months.

Same... swapped out to gatorback last year, been sqeak free since.

Guys I switched to a gator back belt and the squeaking has been dialed back to about 50% volume of what it was before lol. Very frustrating.

Any recommendations? Switch to another belt +\- 0.5” ? Before I replace all the pullies. It’s also got a brand new tensioner.

Thats odd. Sure something isn't out of alignment?

Might have a bearing going out if a new belt is squeaking right off the bat.
