I'm confused Ben. When did I say you get more power from an upgraded MAF? Maybe I misunderstood you. I was just refering to the pegging in regards to power levels. That's why I stated an upgraded MAF at roughly 350 RWHP.

It all goes back to this:

It really doesn't matter, they all give around the same gains (not THAT noticable anyway). JLT/C&L/K&N are all great. A MAF is not required for boltons.

And you're both technically right, I guess. A new MAF isn't required until it is pegged, but that doesn't mean there isn't power to be found by switching to the larger MAF before the stock on is pegged.

Seems to me a 90mm MAF is worth about 7 rwhp with the JLT, at least once the exhaust is opened up and the intake manifold is ported.

I've never heard/seen of an HP gain from simply increasing MAF size.

You didn't click on the link I posted did you?

My car picked up 7 rwhp, Jamie R.'s car picked up 7 rwhp, Tony Whetstone's '02 GT picked up 7 rwhp.

NO, I didn't....but I just read it. One thing I found in common was the ported intakes.

However, with the power level, the stock maf should have been fine. That's the first I've heard of a a gain from a simple MAF and retune. interesting. Forgive me for saying, but I'm still skeptical cause we don't know the fully perimeters changed, BUT, I'm definitely more open minded to it as it is about as full proof as you can get.

I am impressed, I'll say that.

Mind if I link it to the reg.? I'm curious to know what they have to say about it.

I'm not trying to start anything, but the 7whp can be attributed to the meter only? And not in the fuzz of the retune, as well? $200+ for a MAF, and more money for a retune for that little of an increase doesn't seem all that worth it when trying to stay N/A. Yes, exhaust gives 20whp-ish and is more expensive, but there is also the sound factor behind the purchase. My statements of "not worth it" had his budget/goals for the car in mind.

I agree with you from a '$$' stand point, but you can get the 90mm maf for less than that....just an FYI. and yep on teh retune. I do find it an interesting link.

IMO.......I'd still take a centrif. blower over most anything. I LOOOOOVE the sound of an ATi at idle.

IDK for sure. I know some people aren't comfy with it. In theory, it 'could' be a potential problem, yes. I just have no 'proof'. Personally, if rain was a concern of miine, I wouldn't do it.

Either hte JLT RAI, C and L, K and N, Steeda, or php intakes.

I used the K and N and was happy with it.

I dont see how its any different from any other air intake. I have one, but I havent been though a winter yet with it really. A few rain showers but I was never concerned. I also dont drive through huge puddles.
