Thinking about boosting my 2011 GT now that's it's paid off, but also debating on weather to just trade in the 5.0 and get a 2011/12 GT500. There is always the option to add a terminator to the stable and keep the 5.0 as the DD.

Who here has driven a Supercharged 5.0 and the 11/12 GT500's. What was your impression on them? I figure after the blower and some supporting mods i'll be in the range of throwing 8-10k at the 5.0, and for a little more can get a GT500 but not sure if it is entirely worth it.

Thoughts?

Was in the same situation two weeks ago. The amount of money you have to make the trade work could be spent on boosting the 5.0 because you would still need to modify the gt500 to get where a boosted 5.0 would be. If that makes sense..
My paxton kit cost me 5600 that includes id1000, bap, ngk plugs, tbolt clamps, jlt intake. Just fyi.

I think buying an aluminator and FI kit will be cheaper with close reliability around 750 I guess.

7k engine
7k FI kit with the fuel system
6k drivetrain upgrades

assuming you'll do that yourself.
I didn't expect to see prices of the 13/14 still in the 60s! Our cars are worth like 20k now? I'm boosting my 11 with a built engine will cost me total of 24k and will be good for 1400k not that it'll make that much ha

Driven a 2014 GT500 and a owned a 653 RWHP 2003 Cobra. The 2013-2014 GT500 is an awesome car, but the the motors are stupid expensive if you throw a rod and destroy the block or something of that nature. It happened to a good friend of mine. 5.0 parts are super cheap compared to gt500 stuff.

Unless you're bored with the rest of the car, boost the GT. Love my Paxton kit on my 12 GT.
The fact that I installed it myself makes the feeling even better.

Something to think about when it comes to selling the car.
The 500 might have a stronger resale value.
You can take off and sell all of the mods on the 5.0 to get some of your money back. In the end it might be a wash between the two cars.....except for the car payment and insurance.

If you are going to modify the shit out of a car You'll lose the value in a gt500. Stock gt500's Evan 13-14 get beat by boosted 5.0's all the time! So you'll have to do additional work to the gt500 to keep up. Resale value will definitely be better on a gt500 if that matters.

Last year I was deciding on the GT500 and the GT Premium. After my savings the GT Premium was the better choice if you want to build your car your way. I just installed the Roush 2300 stage one and now can look at other area where I want to improve the car. If you are going to get a GT500 then get a 2013 and do not mod it if you want the best return on your investment. Mitch

When I first started modifying I did want to upgrade to a GT500 instead and just call it a day, but I'm glad I went the other route and just got a Vortech kit and built up the GT instead. Much more satisfied not spending a lot more money for around the same amount of power, and all I need is a tune and I'm above the GT500.

Is your car and auto or manual?

If a manual, once you add in the TR6060 swap, the GT500 makes more sense.
