Bought a DD for the daughter.

Went and purchased a new 2014 Focus SE with the appearance package. I work where I bought it from so it was a good deal I believe. Sticker was 22,850. We got it for 18 and some change.That includes 6 year 100k ESP. The color is awesome(Blue Candy Metallic).

The trans issues have been squared away in 2014. I have put about 20 clutch assemblies

Not to thread high jack, but are you aware of what they did to fix the issue? I have not had the opportunity to speak with an actual Ford tech.

going slow.So far it has really helped. The new ones feel smoother at all speeds.

You mentioned repairs. Can this new PCM strategy be applied to a '13 or does it require a new clutch assembly? Ours acts odd but I haven't had a chance to take it in.

We bought a '14 and at low speeds (parking lot speeds) it will kick up and down a gear occasionally, kind of annoying. It is a much improved car over the '07 we had. Wife and I are digging the almost 30 mpg city.

Have the same car in performance blue. Very fun with a 5 speed. Good luck with the DCT there is people having issues even with the 2014's altho not as much.

Some can be fixed by the new strategy. If it chatters when taking off,then
it will most likely need a new clutch and reprogram.

speaking as a young person, and also not knowing how old your daughter is.. With Both those in mind. Why would you get her a brand new car? You should have gotten her a beater, its going to get hit at school and she is still learning how to drive. Being a car guy you should know that women are already at a disadvantage when it comes to driving.

My sister, that I helped teach drive, can parallel park like a boss and is a really good driver, her car is smashed to shit from school already, luckily its a 2004 neon and it's not a big deal but still. I feel kids get everything handed to them and don't respect it.
