I heard a grinding sound tonight so I looked at all the wheels and noticed that the rear passenger inside brake pad was basically gone. I have not checked the rear driver side yet since I did not hear anything from that side. My question is since I have to get a new rotor for rear passenger should I get one for the drivers side or just use the old one if it is in good shape? I am going to measure the thickness but wanted to get opinions. Thanks,
P&V

P.S. What type of pads should I go with? Ceramic, Semi-metallic, etc...?

Eating a steady diet of government cheese, and liv
it shouldnt make the car drive any different to have rotors of two different thicknesses on the rear. however, you may not wish to chase brake wear around. the other side may need replacement in two months, for example.

sounds like the sliders need lube.

Your rotors could very well be salvaged with a simple turning at your local auto parts store? If not, I would buy the rotors and pads in pairs. It will make your brake job much more complete.

FWIW

I have already purchased 2 new rotors, the brake pads and the tool to turn the pistons to install the new pads. Thanks for the help guys!!

P.S. The one rotor is not usable. To much of the rotor was gone.
