burp cap removal....?!

Hey guys,

quick question I'm trying to burp the cooling system and I know u have to take of the burp cap to do so. I'm trying to, but all i've been able to do is break the tools that I'm using. It takes a 1/8" socket adapter....to make sure my questions are:


1. You turn it to the left to loosen correct?

2. If my 1/8" socket broke and got stuck in the cap can I use like a plumbers wrench to take it off without damaging it.....:nonono:

It's a major bitch when the motor is cold, try putting a little heat in it, it works everytime with mine.. Cold=cement tight/Warm= breaks free

Counter clock wise to loosen it.
A plumbers wrench can help remove the plug.
As Brutal Metal said some heat helps to loosen it

I used vise grips then bought a "nut style" unit from member 99COBRA2881

Mine was froze on there. I ended up saying F it & used a punch and a hammer

just heat that thing up it will come right off..
