Sounds like they built some understeer into the C8, to keep inexperienced drivers off the sidewalks.
“Severe understeer will help prevent the overeager owners from pulling a Mustang exit at their local cars and coffee. “
Lol

It should still need gas with a shot Dave.
Where’s that hold on meme?Wet setup would be fine, beyond fifty-ish I’d probably wanna start to pull some timing. 35 ish would be ok dry with no added fuel, factory tunes tend to be on rich side..
Nope, watch the f bomb bypassing Dave. I did like it though.

All good.Thought I had that part blanked out, whoops...

all fun and games until you send a rod through the block
Or meld some rings...all fun and games until you send a rod through the block
Are newer cars that delicate? Back in the day everyone, including myself, would do a 150 wet shot on stock tune ls1s. I even had a 75 wet shot on my stock tune Evo 9. No one I knew ever had any problems. Only thing we did was change to colder plugs.
Think the compression is fairly high in this motor and late gen v LT motors haven’t gained much on tune alone, that would indicate fairly aggressive factory tune..anyways I used to do a 150 wet on my old 94 HCI stang, though I had msd timing retard box, more injector and adj fuel pressure regulator....I don’t know if I’d call these new motors more fragile, but they cost a helluva lot more than any old junk we played with back in the day.
Ya think, my stupid little 2.7 is like almost 11:1. 10.75 to be exact IIRC, and that’s with a boosted engine.Think the compression is fairly high in this motor and late gen v LT motors haven’t gained much on tune alone, that would indicate fairly aggressive factory tune..anyways I used to do a 150 wet on my old 94 HCI stang, though I had msd timing retard box, more injector and adj fuel pressure regulator....I don’t know if I’d call these new motors more fragile, but they cost a helluva lot more than any old junk we played with back in the day.

18psi from the twins I think Jeff on 87. Computers are a bitch.Man its stupid how much compression we run with forced induction nowadays. I had a salesman tell me the 2.7 was high compression turbocharged engine that ran off of 87 and I told him to shut the hell up. No way that yall are able to run 87 on forced induction and not ping and pop.
Used to be able to build a 350 for less than a grand. I knew guys that gave away motors cause they decided it wasn’t worth trying to sell
Looked it up, 18 psi of pressure is correct.Man its stupid how much compression we run with forced induction nowadays. Parts cheap as hell, and everywhere. We used to have a guy that showed up to the local street races with an SBC swapped fox. We called it the junkyard dog, nothing special, just a lot of dope on relatively stock sbc motors. When he blew one up it was off to the junkyard to pull another. This was 20+ years ago, mid 90s.
