Can You Use Stock Harness for 99-01 Tail Lights

As the title says... Or do you HAVE to go buy the 99-01 harness?

Right now, my ambers come on with my brake lights and my brake lights come on with my ambers when I use my turn signals. I don’t see a way to modify the stock harness more than I already have. I just spliced in extra bulbs off of an extra set of 03-04 harnesses I already had.

You don’t HAVE to buy the 99-01 harness, as the other harnesses can be fabricated to make them work, there’s threads on this topic on this forum

However, it’s MUCH easier to splice in the 99/01 amber harness to the body harness, and bam you’re done.

Is there anyway you or someone else can point me in the direction of the thread showing you don’t have to use 99-01 harness or pigtails? I can’t find anything.
