stock 2000 Lightning, 15 psi on a 40* night, unknowingly with a freshly-busted pcv line going to the turkey pan.

subsequent built motor in said 2000 Lightning... cracked cast iron valve guide that comes stock in a Trick Flow Track Heat head, seizing up my intake valve. Intake valve relocated to exhaust seat. Lesson learned, should have upgraded to the bronze valve guides for such a motor.

This is what my new 4.10s looked like a few months after a local speed shop installed them. I turned it into a fail poster. :p

my 4.6 aluminator lost oil pressure, tore up the heads. In the grand scheme of things it could have been worse. I lost the heads, crank had to have a decent amount of work done to it, had to redo the line bore but everything else was able to be saved

This is what can happen when you have a loose green stripe belt jump off, wrap around other parts and try and stop the crank from moving under WOT:

Luckily mine was on my daily, a 99 4.0 inline6 Grand Cherokee. This is what happens when your water pump goes bad, dumps all your coolant and your sensors don't pick it up. What your looking at is the remains of piston 3. Nothing was left but the rod and wrist pin.

Mine is nothing compared to some of these but still necessitated a full rebuild.

They were forged ross pistons that were in the motor for probably 10 years and 35k miles. 7 of the 8 pistons had cracks forming in the same place this let go.

I was able to reused the crank, rods, block and could have reused the heads but I swapped in c heads while it was out.

Interesting, I picked up a 306 short block w/ cast pistons for $150 many years ago, and when I had the machine shop checking P-to-V clearances with my cam, one of the skirts fell off in that same place. They went back and checked the other pistons, and found 5 more with hairline fractures in the same place. That's the whole reason I went with forged pistons on reassembly.

What happened?? Were you tuned for meth?
Yes I was. Never able to 100% confirm it but I suspect that I had a momentary hiccup with the pump or some other delivery issue, which caused an instant lean/heat situation.
