Not a lot of people running these bigger/wider tires from what I can see or at least no pictures I can find. My main question is not about fitment but Pro/Cons of a taller tire. Right now I am on the Brembo Package stock wheels/tires 255/40/19 at 27'' tall. Looking to upgrade to CF10 20x9 and 20x11's with GC adjustable height spring kit and other supporting suspension mods. I also have 3.73 gears.

For the NT05 tire, which I would really like, there are two sizes that I have found in stock.

305/30/20 at 27.2'' tall and 315/35/20 at 28.7'' tall

On one hand I am afraid the 305/30 would look like a rubber band and on the other hand I am afraid the 315/35 is too tall.

What are your opinions guys? I just bought this 5.0 2 weeks ago with 7k miles and I am loving every minute of it! HUGE upgrade over my 99' GT. I am glad to be back on the forums although my screen name no longer fits haha. The car came with an SF3 Bama hand held tuner so I assume I can correct the speedo for larger tires?

Just keep in mind you are throwing your gearing out the door with the taller tire as well as the increase in weight. I have a 28.11 tire and it's a significant difference from my 26.97 tire. I would go with the 315 if I were you the look is worth it. It's not like your going for optimal performance with 20's anyways.

I just very recently switched to a 305 35 20, and am loving it. I absolutely hated the rubber band tire 285 30, I had before.
The taller tire feels better traction wise, and going over shitty roads. Plus it looks way better...

Thanks for the reply. I guess it's worth noting that I plan to do a vmp tvs supercharger this next year as well. From my understanding the 3.73 is already too much gear for that so I guess the larger tire could actually help a little?

Are those CF5Vs in gunmetal? I was looking for CF10 or CF5V in silver, but was taking a look at gunmetal as American Muscle has them in stock.

Do the 315/35/20s. Trust me. I won't go back to another size.

I have 315/35/20 NT05Rs on my 20x11 Forgestar F14s. Prior to that, I ran a shorter tire and hated it. This is especially true because I have 3.73s just like you. Do the taller tire - you won't regret it. Now I just need to get a taller front tire. I have 275/30/20s and next time I'm getting 275/35/20 NT05s.

Yea that rear looks right at home. The fronts are alittle skinny. Whats your suspension set up? I think I will do the 315/35.

P.S. Hope to catch you at the next car show or Firebird!

19" rims bro, when you get wide ones they look just as sexy. dont get 20's. theres a reason the 2016 gt350 and the camaro z28 run 19's.

im personally gonna run 305/30-19 out back and 265/35- 19 in the front. i wanted to run wider fronts but i also want the front and back tires to be the same diameter.

20s are just for looks in my own opinion. 19s are in between performance wise while 18s are probably the ideal wheel for our year Mustangs. I myself prefer the 19in wheel.

I love hearing about 20"s being shitty and 1" smaller wheels give you an extra 50rwhp so on and so on.

Guys I asked about about two different tire sizes. This is not a thread about 19" vs 20" wheels. I appreciate the input on 19"s but really just want to know about the tires for a 20".

This is just a fun car for me and 20"s with NT05's will still be way better than stock. Will it beat a 19" with more of a sidewall? That's for another thread. I want 20"s for looks and a wide nt05 tire for performance. Perfect balance for what I need on my car.

Go with whatever size will give you the best look with your drop. With the TVS, the larger tire will make no difference. It will actually help you out with the 3.73's.

It's the 2013 Shelby GT500 brake setup. I custom painted the front brakes myself using some high quality automotive grade paint and custom made stencils. I bought it from 5.0 Resto.

Whenever I replace my front tires, I'll get some NT05s in 275/35/20 and it should look just about perfect. I'm running Koni Str.T (orange) shocks and struts, with Steeda Sport springs with GT500 mounts. The emphasis for my car was a performance improvement with as little impact to ride and drivability as possible. The car rides really well, and is only lowered an inch. It's my daily driver and I don't want to be banging and scraping on everything every single day. That's annoying as hell. As an added bonus, the atrocious wheelhop I had with my factory Brembo package suspension completely vanished with JUST the install of the new shocks/struts/springs/mounts. No LCAs, no UCA, nothing.

I used 315/35/20 NT05R's on my TF setup. Worked perfect for me but then again I was pushing enough power to overcome the height.
