Chrysler's 5-Year Business Plan: The Product Breakdown

Chrysler LLC has concluded its 7-hour-long marathon presentation of the business plan (read our Live Blog of the event here) that will see it through the next five years, and what we're left with is a little confusing. It's almost as if the automaker's new executives, amidst apologizing for the company's past and promising to do better in the future, were hoping we'd all fall asleep or get lost in the details. Well, we didn't fall asleep or get lost, and below you'll find a breakdown of what we learned while spending the day hip deep in Chrysler's future product. You can also check out the slides from Chrysler's presentation relating to product in the gallery below.

i searched and didn't see this posted here, surprisingly. looks good to me. this should tide them over until the fiats make it over here in a few years.

of note is that the viper will be discontinued in july 2010, may return in 2011 or 2012(unclear) with some ferrari parts(if they don't use the viper V10, i swear...).
dodge ram pickups will be spun off into their own brand, called 'ram'.
the jeep wrangler will be getting a flippin diesel!!!

Why not change the name to Fiat? Lts of models getting the axe but if they are under preformers no one will miss them.

I agree, Chrysler needs to go. They have always made junk, they still make junk, and sucked up a whole ton of tax payer money so they can continue making junk that I have now helped pay for. The only worth while brand they have is Jeep, and that wasn't even theirs to start with. They should just sell Jeep off, and fold. At least we (as taxpayers) could re-coupe some of our losses from the asset sell off.

I would love to have a diesel wrangler as a daily driver. Then I wouldn't want a convertible so bad in my performance car.

Chrysler usually has the best price and without Chrysler's pricing all cars would cost more.

Obviously alot said in one sentence but it's similar to Walmart. They have cheap products so the other stores around need to be competetive and the winner is the consumer.

Kinda sad to see the viper go. Thats about it though.

I have a personal thing against dodge. I was in a severe accident in a Ram where I was airlifted to a hospital, I drove one with a blown transmission for 30 miles (couldnt go above 40 on the highway), got into another fenderbender in another friends Ram, Was almost hit while walking by a dodge caravan about a week ago, and last but not least, A idiot in a SRT-4 neon decided to do a burnout in a parking lot and almost hit my Formula in the process last summer.... Me + Dodge = bad luck.

funny, people were saying mulally was 'too little, too late' and that GM was in the best shape of the big 3 just a few years ago...

i think i'll give the 'grown ups' some time before i decide to play arm chair executive.

i think some of ya'll are missing their business plan

Ram becomes its own brand
Jeep retains most of its own stuff

everything else is replaced by something made by fiat but retains a nameplate only.

basically fiat bought chrysler to get in the US market and retained the two things worth saving: ram truck (only cuz of cummins) and jeep
