CLS55 AMG vs L

I have a good friend back home that has an 05' CLS55 AMG. I know how fast these cars are.

How much power would a Lightning need to make to beat this car from a stop light to about 80 mph?

I have 4.10's and am going to probably put on my Zex wet kit. I have a stock shortblock, so I am not going to push the limits too far.

I would think that if I made 450/570 with a 60 shot with some DR's I would be able to get his AMG to 80.

I know a 30 or 40 roll to 100 he would pull me pretty good Im sure.

What do you guys think?

Stock they run very low 12's

Ive ridden in it quite a few times. They are usually good for about a 12.1-12.5 at 114-118. They have a great top end pull. 0-60 in around 4.3 or so.

I don't think a L could hang really unless it had @ 500 rwhp and DR's.

There ia a white wagon out here totally stock (paper plates) running 12.50's at the track. Talk about a sleeper!

I raced one (a wagon) from a dig and had 1/2 a truck length on him all the way to 100mph when we shut down.

They are fast.

From what I've seen Lightnings trap 113-115 @ around 12.1-12.5 with 450-460hp as long as you can pull off about a 1.8 60' time.

I had a girl spank me in one when I was stock. I didnt even know she wanted to race at the light. She took off and was GONE. I didnt strike it till it was too late....About pushin the limits of the block, I'd rather lose by a little than 'win' and explode the block.
